Natasha and Lee Botbijl’s son’s cerebral palsy inspired his parents to research many forms of medical and alternative therapies. While Lee went to school to become a registered massage therapist, they discovered “floating.” A form of REST therapy (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique), floating involves a water and dense saline solution within a pod. When the pod closes, the person inside is able to meditate and relax, floating weightlessly.
“We dropped everything and dived into the industry,” Natasha says. “We tried it and fell in love with it. Right now we participate in a few clinical and health studies and are working on a magazine that will be available in North America. It will focus on all the different float companies out there and anything involved with this form of therapy.”
