Japanese Village Southside

Attended on Friday, Oct 26/18 with reservations, specifically indicating Birthday Celebration for daughters birthday. I again mentioned birthday when arriving. They didnt do anything for birthday. Mentioned again to server (girl) that it was daughters birthday, so she said okay gets free ice cream. No one did anything else...no birthday wishes or song!! Was assured when making resevations that this would be done! VERY DISAPPOINTED. Two young girls were looking forward to that as well!

Our chef was not engaging and entertaining as the next table. We just got 4pieces of shrimp. Our lobster was at best four onces. The salad did not have that dressing that I love, like the one you get in Calgary.

I love the service and Carl the cook is one of the best they have . He is very entertaining and an excellent cook. I go at least once a month. Enjoy

Fantastic for all ages. Quick, efficiency, very entertaining. Food is grilled to perfection in front of your eyes. All prices include the soup, the small salad, the meal, a green tea and a sorbet or ice cream.

Japanese Village is amazing they cook right in front of you. Or you can have a calm dinner by sitting in the dinig room which is very peaceful and very traditional. you sit on little mats and you can take your shoes off and have that whole Japanese feeling. If you want entertainment then why not watch the chefs cook right in front of you. for appetizers you can order the tempura or a sushi platter. for dinner you get with every meal mushrooms, bean sprouts, onions, zucchini, rice, 2 dipping sauces on for you steak and/or rice the other sauce for whatever you want. other sides that you get are green tea. i recommend the yaki shrimp its delicious. a special bonus that they have is if its your birthday the chefs and waitresses come out and sing you happy birthday and a special Japanes song not only that but they include cake a delicious almost sponge cake. some of the edmonton oiler players have ate here.
