“Trust” is one of the most important words at Westside Auto Repairs, and it’s something owner Steve Parsons takes very seriously. He took over the shop in 2013 after the previous owner passed away, drawn to Westside precisely because values like trust and simplicity were so adhered to. Westside's clients show their appreciation for these values with their loyalty. “The same customers that are coming here are the same customers that were from the old owner," says Steve. "The old owner was here for 25 years and he had a loyal set of customers, and because I kept the same mechanics, the same customers are coming around.”
Steve is quick to point to his two mechanics, Gerry and Paul, as two of the main reasons car owners trust Westside so much. “The mechanics’ honesty and the integrity of their work is what keeps bringing people around again here,” he says. And if Paul and Gerry tell Steve a car should be repaired a certain way? Steve trusts their experience and goes with it. “They tell me, ‘This is what I want — this part, this part, this part,’ and I do what they say and what parts they want to use, and that’s the way we quote all our jobs,” he says.
