A takeaway goat roti is $9. I do not understand how anyone put $60 per person. If you are eating in, the lunch special of say boneless chicken and a pop, is going to run you about the same. If I eat in at lunch I usually get a boneless chicken roti and a pop and a double and a pop. About $11 plus the tip for excellent service. This is my absolute favourite restaurant. I can agree that the location is not awesome but the food is wonderfully delicious. And plentiful.
This is the best caribean food in all of Toronto. I have read other reveiws that don't reflect our experience over the last 8 years.
Yesterday was my first time eating at this restaurant that a neighbour of mine told me about. The server was very friendly even though the atmosphere lacked the same kind of charm. I was very hungry so I ate my goat roti right away and afterwards was still hungry but I decided against eating anything else that night. Well a little over 8 hours later I was on the toliet re-depositing the roti for another 8 PLUS hours. The person who I was with also got food poisoning with similar toliet-related activities for just as many hours. This may have been my first time eating here but I am pretty sure my stomach has declared "THIS IS YOUR LAST!"
I usually just go for the take out at lunch at it's great. I like the roti and the service is fast.
The curry is not good and is very water down. If you get the chicken, goat or beef curry, prepared to be disapointed. Its very canadian style and does not bring out the true carribbean taste.
We are new to Ajax - so thanks to the others on the board we tried this place out last night. The Roti's were a good size portion at a great price too. Very tasty and home made roti meat that was delicious. Its a very popular place - but certainly worth the lineup wait. Take home - don't bother eating at the establishment.
This is probably the best roti place in the city. No where can compare to this as far as I've tasted. The service was excellent and the new location is very cozy. Being from the Caribbean myself, good food that tastes just like "home" is very hard to find these days. This restaurant definitely lives up to your expectations. I would recommend it to everyone and if you are new to this kind of cuisine, give it a try because they cater for all different types of ethnicities. A friend of mine even rented out the venue for a private occasion and the food was incredible and the staff were really friendly and thoughtful. I definitely recommend Rotilicious to everyone!
Wow, how can a restaurant care less about it's patrons? I have always loved the food here and popped in last night for a take-out. They wrote my order down on a torn piece of paper along with someone else's order. I had a feeling this would be a problem but said nothing. 20 Minutes later, I asked where my food was as people came and went with their orders. Turns out it was ready after 5 minutes but sat unclaimed on the counter. The man and woman running the take-out were completely unwilling to make amends but simply shrugged off the oversight as "we've been having some problems lately. "Duh!!" Hey, if you two had any sense you would have offered up some discount or freebie to me rather than a half-hearted and bleak appology. I walked out without my food. I'm not going back. Hoping they read this review and take note. Don't be cheap and defensive when you screw up. Customers can be understanding if you compensate them for their valuable time. Otherwise it will cost you in the long run!
The Best Roti you can buy anywhere, dough is nice and so are the ingredients inside NOT watery like other places where eating roti is messy. Chicken is all white meat not like other places cheat by mixing. Pholourii ball are tasty. Don't forget Vanilla Fudge it's homemade and fresh. When ordering Take Out they go by Trini Time not Canadian Time, 10 min. is 20+ min. New location is very modern, large and clean.
As always nice flavour, juicy chicken, soft shell. Chicken roti, always delicious in the 10+ years they've been around they've always dished out the best roti in Durham and eastern scarborough
the doubles was not doubles but something that kinda looked like it. the roti was watery and weak. the place itself though is rel nice, clean though!
Simply stated the best rotis I have had anywhere which is why I go back often. They moved from original spot but just around the corner. Highly recommended.
Just beeautiful man !!! Ju can feel the flavah for hours aftaward. Eeez goood eats. Luvs z Roti .... yes yes.
Best Roti I can find. Better than everywhere I've tried in Toronto. The Roti is made fresh and is always soft and perfect, and the curried chicken is sublime. It is addictive. WEll done rotilicious!
This is the most delicious roti I have ever eaten. The atmosphere reminds me of my vacation in the caribbean. There is a wide selection of exotic drinks and beer. I will definitely eat here again.
Terrible, terrible food! I've never tasted such garbage before! Service was great, they need to work on the food though.
