After I discovered The Dragon about 6 years ago, I haven't ordered Chinese food from anywhere else. Their food always tastes amazing. No other restaurant can possibly compete with their constant quality. Fast, friendly, delicious.
Had the buffet at lunch & it was very good. Staff was very friendly & the price was good value. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for reasonably priced chinese food & good service.
I was a student at Innisdale School during the 80's, many a lunch hour was spent at the Dragon Restaurant (Little & Bayview) having buffet lunch for just under $6.00 per person. I have recently returned to Barrie from the west coast of Canada, only to find the Dragon had moved to a new location at Essa & Burton. To my surprise the lunch buffet has only incresed in price by a few dollars in 20 years, one of the servers has been there just as long :-)
The Dragon is a small family business with the same very honest owner.
It was very nice to visit the new location. Food was as good as I remebered, the prices are still excellent, service was great.
btw: they have never used MSG in there food to my knowledge.
I will be returning to the Dragon Restaurant when I need my next good fix of Chinese cooking.

okay so.. i'd like to start off by saying that it is extremley rude to bring food or drinks from other companys in to a resuraunt and you will find that there are alot of places that will NOT allow it.. second off.. i've been eating there for years and the buffet is 7.50 for lunch.. 9.50 for dinner through the week.. and 10.50 for dinner friday to sunday.. so where are you getting your prices here? not the dragon resturaunt thats for sure ( i think you have the wrong resturaunt).. and as for my review.. the food is absolutley excellent!! i dont eat ANY where else and you wouldnt believe the amount of people who would agree.. and if you've ever had a bad waitress or bad service its because they're extremeley busy and even then they still do an outstanding job.. and last but not least.. if they had ever screwed up your order.. believe me.. it was most likely because they were busy.. besides i dont thinki could name one reasturaunt that has NEVER screwed up an order..
It is a typical chinese restaurant that is not "made in China". The food was decent, nothing too great but enjoyable non the less. Still, i remember that thier prices were not that low either... but then again i got takeout, maybe the buffet will be more fulfilling. Just to add here, to walk into a restaurant with a coffee cup only reflects the lacking moral values of that particular person...
Typical Chinese Canadian fare and not special. The waitress wasn't particularly pleasant -- she objected to a cup of coffee I had brought with me from another proprietor -- but it did not excuse her attitude. No going back to this place.
