Can't say enough about this place. My wife and I discovered E&A's 2 years ago and go back at least once a month. I read some negative comments on this page and frankly, I think that these were written by E&A's competition because for the most part the comments were complete rubbish. We have never had a bad experience there, and the food and service has been cosistently top notch. They have the best seafood platter we have ever enjoyed . Their meals although pricey are filling and delicious. It can be cold if you sit in the front in the winter though. If you sit at the chef's table you can watch your meal being prepared. Someone commented that the steaks are pre-cooked and warmed up?? I have watched my raw steak cooked to perfection in frontt of my own eyes so I don't know were that comment came from. We highly recommend E&A's and as a matter of fact, we are going there tonight again! P.S. They make the best Ceaser I have ever had too.
Can't say enough about this restaurant!! From the very first greeting right to the end of our dinner everything was exceptional!! I have been out of the Belleville area for some time and was very pleased to see a restaurant that is not stuck in the 90's... Attention to detail!!! The wine list is also very impressive and the desserts are to die for. They even offer an exquisite cheese plate. Would recommend Earl & Angelo's to everyone.
I can understand on a busy night that the service might be a little slow. I can understand that a couple of mistakes might happen with the orders. It is unusual that a couple of people have to send their meals back to get them cooked properly. My Wife's steak was raw in the middle. My salmon was tasteless. Vegetables were extra, We had to upgrade if you wanted the potato of the day. What is completely unexceptable is the attitude. Adding a mandatory 20% tip for bad service. The manager yelling at those of us that complained. Sorry!!! Doesn't cut it. No apology was given. Only excuses. Here is a clue. When things go bad (which they did) apologize. Maybe offer a few drinks next visit. Something. Sadly I won't be going back because I used to like this restaurant.
Tasty food. Good for lunch, nice but expensive for dinner. Have been many times now and its consistently good. Often uncomfortably cold in the winter though, wear a sweater to keep warm. It's our favourite restaurant in Belleville.
Not at all in the league of Gibby's Steak House in Montreal but ok I guess. The steak is average, not bad but definitely not world class. I think what I am trying to say is that the restaurant is not bad but way overpriced for the food quality. If you took $10 off the price of the steak it would be more realistic for what you are getting and I would have rated this restaurant higher. If you charge top dollar, you better deliver!
My wife and I went here on a date. And we loved it. We sat at the chefs table ( I'm glad we did are first time because I would not want to sit there every time.) The Service was great, Its a little loud in there but it was packed so thats ok. The Soup was good but cold, Salad rocked. The main entrees was great . We would have been happy with just the steaks. Dessert was good.
The food was cold when served and items ordered came later. The service was absolutely awful. Cold impersonal and arrogant. I think this is the worst place to ever drop 300$! Never never again!
Not going to go into a lot of detail here because it is not like me to do this type of thing but just want to say the food was amazing, the cocktails as I remember from great places over my years, but rare to find locally. The atmosphere was very warm and pleasant and my wife and I can not say enough about our service. She was Katelyn, a beautiful girl with a wonderful personality, who just did everything the way it should be done....looked after us like royalty. When my wife has her birthday next month I had already planned to take her back here again as a surprise, but recently she told me, I had no choice, THIS IS WHERE SHE INSISTS ON GOING....and that is just fine with me! When we make our reservation I will request a table with Katelyn though, because her warm hospitality just enhanced our whole experience. Just great to have a restaurant like this in Belleville.
Grey Goose drinks + Sex in the city for the women (also wine & cognac later) - Great!!!! Starts - shared a variety of just about everything Mains - (rib eys & Lob Tails....came here for the steaks) - GREAT!!!! Service (server was Cat....amazing knowledge of everything and made everyone feel very welcome....am sure I have seen her in Toronto somewhere a few years ago....THE BEST EVER!!!!) Have visited from time to time when in Belleville and can say, as good as anything I have experienced in Toronto, including Mortons off Yorkville. We will look forward to dining here every time we visit Belleville....Chefs, servers, bar, bus, host and who ever the owner is....KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK....WELL DONE!!!!
I have to say that we did check the on-line reviews beforehand. The last time we attended at Earl & Angelo's we were not impressed, but I did have gift certificates to use up. We were pleasantly surprised by the service which started with the hostess and of course, our waiter, Steve. Our dinner was wonderful (although we are still wondering what kind of mushrooms were served - good though). Our guest was celebrating her birthday and this was the first time she had been to Earl & Angelo's. She enjoyed herself immensley.
A friend invited me for dinner for my birthday, and we decided to try Earl and Angelo's. Needless to say the food was fabulous, and we were very impressed by the whole experience. Our steaks were done to perfection as was everything else. Our server recommended the cheesecake for dessert and it was heavenly. They comped the cheesecake when my friend told them it was my birthday. We will definitely be returning, with our spouses and recommending E&A's to others.
My wife and I had decided to treat my sister and her boy friend to dinner out. We wanted it to be special, and a celebration, Well it was special alright! We had been at the restaurant before with another couple when it had first opened and enjoyed the experience. This time was not like before, we were seated up stairs behind the bar. The four of us were squeezed into a small table (when food arrived there was barely enough room for the plates)in a corner, it's not like we had walked in lucky to get a table, we had made reservations a week in advance. There was a LARGE group of VERY LOUD women in the same room. It was so bad that we couldn't talk across the table to each other, we had to yell our order to our waitress. With a group that large and loud they shouldn't have seated any one else up there. Our food was delayed in being served so long that we thought that they had forgotten our order. The food was good but at these prices I don't expect to eat at a bus station. We couldn't get out fast enough and unfortunately the service didn't allow that. Will we try the restaurant again? Maybe, if they try to seat us upstairs NO! Talking to others I haven't heard many good experiences lately from this restaurant. Nothing will kill a restaurant faster than CUSTOMERS having bad experiences and not returning or recommending to others.
My wife and I visited Earl & Angelo's for our wedding anniversary and were extremely impressed by the food and the service. The host, Terry, greeted us warmly and seated us promptly. Our server Pierre was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and wine selection. The appetizers were perfect sized portions and were a glimpse of the deliciousness that proceeded in the main course. The New York Strip loin was cooked perfectly to my liking, and was nicely spiced and surprisingly tender. The vegetables and potatoes were nothing short of excellent. My wife's tuna was equally delectable. Upon making the reservation for the evening, I informed an employee that we would be celebrating an anniversary. I was surprised when Pierre offered us a complimentary dessert or specialty coffee. We ordered the creme brulee style cheesecake which definitely ended our evening on a good note. This was most definitely an experience that I will remember and would not hesitate to return to Earl & Angelo's again on other occasions! I've heard that their lunch menu is excellent as well!
My wife's fish was pretty good...my steak was very poor. If that is their signature dish I feel sorry for them. I can go to Bibb's and get a grilling steak and throw it on the BBQ and get MUCH better results. TAKE NOTE!
We were delighted with the exceptional service provided by Tammy, and the excellent meals prepared by the chef. We were greeted warmly by the hostess, were able to select our table on the main floor, and were treated as valued guests by Tammy. We will highly recommend your restaurant to our friends.
Dinner at Earl and Angelo's was fantastic! I had the best lobster tail and steak and my friend had the feature which was amazing!!! Our server Krystal was very attentive and friendly as well as the bus girl Riley. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone from or visiting Belleville!
fish was dry and chalky, beef was just ok but this is a steak house and beef SHOULD just not be ok in a steak house, it should be great. wine selection is lacking and very overpriced for cheap the wine they have. Service is somewhat attentive but a little too "rough around the edges".
My wife and I came to this restaurant because I have heard a few good reviews and a few bad reviews, and we wanted to make the decision for ourselves. We were sat at the chef table, which was our request, but we were soon very disappointed. One of the chefs gave us a considerable amount of a somewhat snobby and stuck up attitude, then he overcooked our both of our Surf and Turf meals. Terrible experience and we will never return.
This Restaurant is Amazing, service, food, and ambiance is all a 12. What a busy place we arrived at 7:00 to see a hustling and bustling restaurant. I was greeted at the door by a very kind young man whom instructed us to wait in their lounge until our table was ready. I was disappointed in this at first (as we had had a reservation), but when I walked up stairs I was again instantly greeted by the bartender and in no time flat I had a beer in my hand and a smile on my face. After only about a 10-15 min wait we were escorted to out table, witch with all the activity going on and a big screen T.V to watch seemed like no time at all. After being seated our sever Tammy took over and expertly directed each of us in our selections. She was so knowledgeable about the food I was amazed. Every thing after that just fell right into place, I immensely enjoyed my rib eye Steak recommended by Tammy as well did my friend Joe and our wives both had the halibut with the Garlic butter sauce (now I had a taste of her fish and I am not normally a fish fan but MMMmmh this was exceptionally prepared) I would highly recommend this restaurant and give great kudos to all the staff that work there. Now, I have read the other reviews on this web site and would hope that every one would give this restaurant a chance BELLVILLE NEEDS MORE PLACES LIKE THIS!!!!!!
After consuling restaurantica for a review on this restaurant, we decided to plan an anniversary celebration at Earl and Angelos anyway, and give this new restaurant a chance. On Monday, with a party of 6, we arrived for our reservation (made 3 days in advance) and were escorted upstairs to the empty bar area. For 3 of us, this was our first visit to Earl and Angelos and we were very dissapointed. Although we had phoned to confirm our reservation we were not told that we would be seated upstairs, after we asked to be seated in the dining area. We were all disappointed, and didnt even sit down. However the server continued to provide menus and offer (empty) excuses and apologies. No effort was made to move us downstairs - infact we were blamed for altering our reservation our reservation (we had phoned to say we would be late earlier that day). It was a thoroughly disappointing experience and I am sure we will not return.
