I have been to Lousiana last Summer and left with a bad experiance and thought of not going back again.. since all my friends forced me to go i went with them really I felt the difference comparing to my last vist.. its been newly renovated and a beautiful patio to relax and have a beer to chill out with friends. Staff really friendly and they have variety of food menu to decide on. They have a plate called land and sea which comes with lobster, Steak and shrimps which really value for money and good quality i was really impressed with the servise provided and i spoke to the Manager of Lousiana he told me how this was earlier and the new management is really working on with food quiality and provide great customer service... I will definelty go to Louisiana again and do recommand to my friends... WELL DONE LOUISIANA KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
I think Restaurant Under New Management If you are a don't bother to come in because the official policy is to be able to take "abuse"... but, as I found out with my wife, the abuse is the fun part of the whole experience...not to mention great food for a reasonable price that does not bankrupt you! it reminded me of New York. The service was informal and friendly, the staff knew what they were doing real well and worked together as a fantastic team to bring us what we wanted. And, you serve your own coffee, real good coffee... and water! Would we go there again? Absolutely!!
If you are going to go.. to this place go on a night when theyve got live music!! This was me & hubby's second Friday night here, and we love that the band gets the whole place going. Really energetic n fun music, the guys are always throwing in a call for 'sociable!!' Hubby ate the seafood platter.(pretty good), shrimp (yum!!) and fish (really good). it was huge and delicious.!! Sometimes differednt staff would bring us different parts of our orders (one took the order, another brought the food, etc) but everyone who served us was super friendly and not annoying n phony like some corporate type places. All in all we have found a new favourite place for music on the weekends, we've had a wonderful couple of nights here.
We were seated by a staff member and they never came back to take our order . after 15 minutes we left (my wife on crutches no less) . Nobody even bothered, or cared why we were leaving. This is not the first time we have encountered poor service here, but it will be the last . The food is adequate, but not memorable.
Service was poor. Dead fly on the table we were seated and the food was poorly cooked. Appetizer was just below average - no flavour calamari. Ordered shrimp with scallops and the scallops were over cooked which made them tough and inedible and made with enough garlic to kill a vampire. Wife's blackened catfish had no salt. Overheard 1 of the 4 other patrons at the time complaining about his dry steak. Didn't even receive a discount or a visit by the chef even though the waitress said she would let him know our dissatisfaction. The place was practically empty...now i know why! Spent $65 on inedible food....
BEWARE!!! New owners, Cheap owners.. Ordered ribs, they came not cooked. Sent them back...the same fate awaited. Got the bill and spoke with Mgmt., he smiled and said sorry then said it would be complementary. Bill arrived it was still on less 4 dollars. Spoke to mgmt again, said the waiter made a mistake. Sent waiter back with bill, still 4 dollars off and the manager was no where to be found. Horrible.
Love this place, although some of the food is a bit on the spicy side, so if you can't tolerate heat make sure to tell the server to tone it down. I love the shirmp skewer with rice (forgot what the exact name is) but the pasta, pizza and non-seafood dishes are just amazing too.
went to louisiana's for a birthday party...wasnt my choice, but i was invited...little nervous because i dont love seafood, but to my suprise there was quite a few non seafood choices, steaks, chicken dishes, pizza, pasta. i got the New York Angus.. BEST STEAK I'VE HAD YET....i would only rate atmosphere at 3 because it was missing some feel...our service was impecable the young man who served us (dont know the name, but he was a redhead) brought us a round of shots at the end of the night for the birthday, and made sure we all were well taken care of....i will be back on a weekend, to see one of their bands...hope fully that adds the atmosphere i was looking for.
great place, highly recommend this place for a good night out. The food is prepared fresh and comes out just as you would expect it.
We were at Louisiana's for a birthday party. The greeter was polite. Our server Jennifer?? was amazing. Friendly, knowledgable,and prompt. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food and we all had take home boxes. I thought that once the restaurant changed ownership that it would go downhill,but all I have seen are improvements. They've kept the old favourite menu items and added new ones. The manager stopped by and offered the birthday boy a dessert. The new tables and fresh coat of paint has enhanced the atmosphere, although there is more to do. Definately a great experience.
Steve no longer owns or runs this restaurant, the chef is the same but the food quality has gone down hill badly as has the service. I will never go here again and I was a regular that would have given a 10 rating for food entertainment and service. I am very sad to see a good restaurant in Brampton go to the dumps!
We had read great reviews from people on this site, but were thoroughly disappointed when we received our meals. The alfredo sauce was certainly pre-processed and the garlic shrimp/scallop was bland and boring. I definitely could have cooked a better meal at home. They are charging way too much for the meal you get. The service was okay, although our waitress only had two tables so it is difficult to gauge the staff's competency if it had been busy in there. We are not sure how so many people could give this restaurant such great reviews. 10/10???? You've got to be kidding. Call me after Restaurant Makeover overhauls the menu.
This is not my first time at this restaurant, but for others it was - and we were all more than pleased and impressed with our meals. Not only did the owner, Steve, great us and seat us, the wait and kitchen staff were amazing. We brought our own birthday cake and they held it in the kitchen until time to surprise the birthday girl and brought it out with candles. Our server (whose name escapes me at the moment) was absolutely fabulous - we weren''t rushed through ordering or to leave - in fact, we were at the restaurant from 7pm-10pm enjoying the food, the company and the atmosphere. I am certain we would not have gotten this service, selection, quality or quantity of food at any franchise restaurant in the Brampton area at all. Thank you Louisiana''s for a great night!!
The food was unbelievable. The service was also great! The seafood platters were huge with tons of oysters, mussels, shrimps, lobster tails, crawfish, salmon. It was delicious. The waitor was also very helpful and courteous and quick with everything. He made sure everything was going well with our visit every step of the way. The atmosphere is cozy and spacious.
The food and atmosphere was amazing. A live Jazz band played through most of the night. Light breeze through the garage-style windows. Good service and amazing food. The swiss miss chicken was amazing!!!! I didn't order it but I will next time. Good thing about ordering different dishes... you get to sample everything. And everything was amazing! About half our party ordered the swiss miss chicken because it sounds so tempting - were not disappointed. The steak was huge and succulent.. as was the lobster tail. Jambalaya was okay. Would definitely go again and be more adventurous with the menu:)
Service is the worst. Waited 1 hour 30 minutes for the main course. Chowder was horibile.
we had a staff christmas dinner there. they had obviously overbooked. it was very packed, and therefore service was slow. I had been looking forward to trying the place, but i was really disappointed with the food. it seems as if they try to let the theme of the restaurant carry the customers through their visit, instead of actually focussing on the quality of the food. the meals were just thrown together, nothing was really great. the salads were miserable excuses for caesar salad. nothing was restaurant quality. I didn't pay for the meal, as it was a staff dinner, but i was really very disappointed with the quality of the meal. desert was actually quite gross, it was a chocolate mousse cake and was very tasteless and cheap. for coffee, they handed us all an assortment of mugs of different sizes and shapes. as if they had clearly run out of mugs, and brought out every dirty, chipped, odd sized, oddly embelished cup or mug they could find. the service wasn't great, no major mishaps, but the staff was really rough around the edges. the band was horrible, and really geared towards entertaining the 40's-50's crowd. i won't go back, adn it's a shame because i thought it would be good, i live 2 minutes away, and i am happy to pay for a good meal, but louisana just isn't worth it at all. i was so disappointed that i actually tell ppl it's not worth going if they mention it.
It was our 5th time for dinner since '06. I've brought many people from the office & they now go on their own. Great food & service & we love to go when Danny Brooks is playing there. We always make reservations & last time we were there, the chef came out & danced with one of my girlfriends. We are going back on July 21st.
