I have only been for lunch a couple of times but the food is awesome, fresh ingredients, and everything is made in house. Delicious.
I really liked this place and we'll definitely go again. I had chicken breast with porobellos and brie, my spouse had past with shrimp. We also had the tapas appetizer, which was good. 1/2 litre of just OK red wine for $15.95. I had heard this place was overpriced, but I didn't find that at all. Food was pretty good, wine cheap, dessert good. Good variety on menut - food tasted fresh. Will definitely go back again.
We went here for a friends birthday and from the outside it looked like a nice sweet place to have dinner. We were wrong. It was freezing cold inside, and we were greeted by a very rude server, who seemed to be extremely bothered by us coming for dinner. We also got there at 8 and were told the kitchen was closing in 30 minutes so we had to rush to order and to eat. When the food came out, we all ordered different things including the pasta and a burrito and out of our group, only 2 people liked their meal and finished it. I had the pasta and found it to be the worst thing I have ever tasted, and it cost me $18 for the pleasure. When we asked to get the food wrapped the server seemed disgusted with us. We will not be back.
We were greeted rather coldly by the hostess at the door who would also be our waitress, she had zero personality, don't waste her time by asking questions about the menu she wasn't interested in helping us about the menu. she seem to be in rush even though there was only two other tables of two. The menu was a little out dated, a lot of dishes had thick cream sauces, it would be nice to see some healthy dishes on the menu. I had the red snapper which was cooked perfectly but unfortunately it was ruined by the heavy tomato cream sauce, We felt our waitress was rushing us as the restaurant started to fill up, we had reservations i wasn't skipping dessert so she could have the table, so we order the Crepes which were fantastic! Overall this is not a place i would rush back to anytime soon, the prices don't match the quality or service.
I went here with my family for my birthday, it was good. I was here before as well. You get a lot of food, i remember it being kinda pricey tho.
We made the 45 minute drive from out home to the restaurant as we were excited to try the place, having read a fair number of good reviews. We arrived at 2:05 p.m. only to be told that the kitchen closes at 2 and re-opens at 5, and we couldn't be served. We'll probably try again but this is a heads up to any of you who were planning on making the trip...make sure you time it correctly! Ended up having a disappointing lunch elsewhere.
The food was delicious with very generous portions. There's good variety on the menu and the service is exceptional. If you are looking for casual dining with great food, fair price and excellent service this is the place. The pattio is very pretty with all the lights in the trees, this was an added bonus on a nice warm night.
The food was great, but a little pricey for the quality. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but wasn't excellent as the price portrayed.
The food from here is incredibly unpredictable in quality. Sometimes good and sometimes bad. Wraps and sandwiches are all I've had from here. The butter tarts were great but they've now stopped baking which is a shame.
Absolutely Fantastic!!! The food and service at Einsteins is beyond great, it is always bloody fantastic. The service is always cheerful and helpful, they always recommend the right thing. In the summer time, the patio is probably the best place to be in Guelph with some great beers on tap.
Went this year for Valentine's Day with my fiance. After climbing the steepest stairs imaginable in heels we were seated in a tiny room with two other tables in close quarters. The waitress was extremely friendly and service was fairly quick for a special occasion. Appetizers and our main courses were delicious but it was the peanut butter cheesecake that will keep me coming back. Will definitely be back for dessert and drinks, just hope to be seated in the downstairs area this time around.
Very nice small restaurant. Went there for the first time for dinner with a friend on a Tuesday night. Small dining room but very clean and cozy. The food was very good with generous portions. Really enjoyed it. Antijitos were delicious. Ordered one dessert but was served another. It's okay though - pecan pie which was delicious!
Went for lunch with a friend one day as we had heard it was great for lunches. It was completely packed in there and we still had pretty good service. The Einsteins Salad looked amazing, I had the antijitos and salad and my friend had the chicken quesadilla. Would definitely go here again, very cute, nice ambience and the patrons were not noisy or ignorant in any way. Overall it was a great experience just wish I had more salsa!
I went there for lunch with my grandmother and we both enjoyed ourselves. The food was great and the portion sizes were large. It is small but cozy in there. It is a very nice environment. I would definitely go back. I wish it was open on Sundays.
Highly recommend for lunch - just not when I'm there 'cos I want a seat!
If you're looking for a nice, casual, relaxing place to go for lunch..try Einstein's. I had not been there in a few years and had forgotten this little gem just on the outskirts of downtown. Our server was pleasant, prompt and very professional. The atmosphere at Einstein's is very nice..the restaurant is an 'older' house and quite interesting. The food was quite good and reasonable priced. The homemade cream of veg soup that they were featuring today was just excellent; as was the salad and house dressing. Garlic toast..not so much...but I prefer mine to be on the soggy side..this garlic toast was too crispy for my taste. I really enjoyed my lunch here and will return. The menu was extensive with lots to choose from.
What a great restaurant! The food was amazing, service was great, and the place is beautiful. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals and the portions were huge. One person I was with has severe allergies, and the servers and chef were extremely accommodating. The peanut butter chocolate cheesecake especially was to die for. I will definitely be back to Einstein's, and I also plan on visiting their bakery (in the same building) for more cheesecake!
I've been here quite a few times and I have to say I'm completely hooked. The food is great, the service is great, and it's definitely become my go-to restaurant.
This was my first time coming here. They left a pretty good impression. the service was fast and the server was really friendly. theres a few things i would change for example my salad dressing wasn't mixed well.. just little things like that. other than that everything was amazing.
I have always loved dining at Einsteins and visited the restaurant several times. The restaurant is located in a beautiful old house just outside of downtown Guelph. There are a few tables located in the upstairs, as well as beautiful wooden tables downstairs, and in good weather, outside on the patio. It is wonderful to dine outside on a nice summers night surrounded by beautiful trees and friends. I have fallen in love with one particular dish at this restaurant and rarely try anything else! The peach and caramalized onion quesidilla is also filled with a nice white cheese. I love the combination of the savory and sweet. The dish is served with rice and a delicious garden salad that has a creamy light dressing and spiced nuts on it. The cheesecake was wonderful. Creamy, moist and flavorful. The service can be slow when the restaurant is very busy but good food is worth the wait! Be sure to make reservations!
