We were so pleased that thus location was opened back up, the renovations looked beautiful. However the service sucked!!! We were seated quickly and given menus and then waited 10 mins for someone to ask us had our waitress taken our orders, then we waited 30 mins for our salad & soup to arrive. And it wasnt even that busy. When our chicken parmesan came i had to ask for more sauce for our pasta as there was next to no sauce on it. Both orders of chicken parmesan varied greatly in their size
Just went to Eastside Mario’s on Upper James and sat down for more than 1/2 hour and all the severs just walked past us like we were never there, the worst service ever. The manager also walked past and while she fixed the tables we got up and walked out. Sorry but this is very poor service.
Where do I begin, walked in and put my name in to wait 20 mins for a table. Looked around and saw at least 7 empty tables which, fair, understaffed. Got seated and was not greeted by a server for 15 mins. After this proceeded to wait 1hr and 20 mins for the food. Asked for a manager who came over and didn't even bother to say his name and apologized. He then threw every staff member under the bus and never once took the blame. Still had to pay 50% of the meal. Great service eh?
The atmosphere is terrible, led lighting is harsh, the place was freezing, we had to keep our coats on the entire time we were there. The place is loud, the music blaring through tinny speakers. We were there at 8:30pm so not very busy and yet it was almost 9:30pm by the time we got our food. Food was mediocre at best. The diner dishes were still on the table when the crappy dessert was served with no cutlery or napkins. We had to go and hunt down the waitress to pay, we are never coming back!!
this is the last time that I will go to east side marios because of the food every time that I have been at the same location my food was not cooked, cold or they didn't have it. 2 nihts ago we took are granddaughter for her birthday and when I got mine it was hard and not cooked
Well my girlfriend and I decided to go to Eastside Marios and we got asked to go to the bar side and that is were it started to go bad, I recieved the menu and I couldnt even see what it said on it because we had no light to see. We ordered a glass of water with lemon wans't a problem than we decided to proceed to order. We had to wait almost 50 mins for the food and by the time we recieved it was cold and hard. In my proffesional opinion I was very disappointed with the Atmosphere the service and most of all the food we will not be going agian.

the food here is good..typical to east sides. Unfortunately it always takes at least 15 min to get a table regardless of what time you get there. Service is relatively slow, and you end up filling up on salad and bread. At least they don't slash the portion sizes knowing that people do fill up on salad and bread.
They do need to go a lil easier on the dressing on the salads tho...i prefer to have more lettuce and veggies than i do dressing.
they sometimes have good deals on entrees and desserts.
cheese caps are tried and true..their pizza is TERRIBLE though!!! i ate 1 out of 4 pieces, of excessively dry dough...the sauce didn't even reach the edges and there was 1 piece of pepperoni on each slice. The waitress asked if wanted it to go, i said no(obviously) and she didn't ask why until she brought back containers for the other persons meal in my party.
When i told her it was terrible she said "oh, that's too bad" that was it..no offer of anything else, not really an apology, and Definitely not anything taken off the bill.
You should be able to order anything off of a menu and be satisfied, not have to stick with the same meal all the time.

Well i love their chocolate milk and i hate their food. I orders spaghitti which was over cooked and the sauce tasted like pepsi. I dont know why or how but i saw poop in the urnil. Someone should realli clean the bathrooms. I will never go there again
Very poor service. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We went for lunch, only 3 other tables, but server was slow, rude, and never checked on our table to see if everything was going well. Drinks were not refilled, neither was the unlimited soup and salad. We asked for pepper and none was brought over. The dessert that came as a part of our meal was not brought until we asked--they were going to give us our bills without giving us our dessert. 2 of the 3 people having dessert had finished theirs before the last person's dessert was brought. Portion sizes were small, and food was cold. The bread loaves were stale. Save your money and go somewhere else, definetely not worth it.

I came around 10:30 on a weeknight. Service was dying down and I came for takeout. However, NOBODY came to greet me when I waited at the front although a few staff were standing around near the back kitchen area. There was also no one at the bar. After a few long minutes, the waitress finally came by carrying food for the people by the bar. She then went to the cash register at the bar so I politely asked her where I would order for takeout (sign said at the bar but no one there).
This waitress was the RUDEST ever! She didn't even look at me, and instead, told me rudely that she's very busy and has 3 tables to serve before she can get to me. She basically brushed me off. A simple apology or a "I'll be there in a sec" would be nice. Nevertheless, I was so angry at her, I left and didn't bother to order.

The service was slow, refills on unlimited salad didn't come. Pop cups remained empty throughout meal. Manager came over and grovelled about how busy they were but did not rectify the situation. Second bad experience.
We were visiting from out of town with 10,000 other people for the Around the Bay 30k. Even though the place was extremely busy, our server (Who was also working the bar) was quite attentive to our needs.
The food was hot and prompt... and exactly what we ordered.

Usually, East Side Mario's is one of my favourite restaurants. However, due to my expeience there yesterday (and numerous times in the past, when I ended up waiting for an hour or more because you don't take reservations for less than eight people), you guys just went WAY down on my list!! Sorry to say that you likely will NOT be seeing me again.
Eastsides on upper james hosts almost ALL our work parties which are 20-35 people 4 - 5 times a year. Service is amazing!!...food is even better!!!We all look forward to our work outtings that take place at eastsides. The bar is great too! Best margaritas in town!!!
