1 of my favourite places to dine!! This location on Queenston Rd is the best I have been at! The owners & all the staff are great! Not only friendly, good service but very accommodating through my many allergies & preparing a perfect meal for me!! Rose
Food was absolutely disgusting the meatballs were burnt and the noodles had no sauce on it no impressed one bit
My favorite place to eat!!... great food and great service..just luv it!!
I always get the linguine chicken tetrazzini which is so good! Their salads are also wonderful. I am sad though that they got rid of their minestrone soup
The spaghetti bolognese was quite adequate, although nothing special. The unlimited garden salad was very good and I ordered a second helping even though the first one was generous enough. The house wine was decent. Prices are a little bloated, but not out of the normal range for this type of restaurant. Service was attentive despite the place being very busy. Atmosphere was somewhat chaotic and noisy for my liking, but as I said, it was very busy. A slight thumbs up from me.
I am probably east side mario's number on customer. I have ate at every ESM in the Hamilton area, and I must say the Queenston one is the best to go to. The waiters/waitresses are always friendly and quick on their feet. The longest I've ever had to wait here for maybe 15 minutes but they have a bar you can go to while waiting for your table. One time I went there, they had a huge party for a kids hockey team which made the place very chaotic but the staff did their best to make everyone feel comfortable is the fairly small resturant. They also have all you can eat bread, which is amazing! As well as all you can eat soup or salad. I always get the italian wedding soup which is to die for. Their menu has a great variety, I am a very picky eater so finding things I like can sometimes be challenging. But ESM's menu is great!
Good food clean good service lots of parking and the great greeting is good thing
This location is right around the corner from us so we visit frequently - we have been going for many years and always receive great service and above average food. It is always fresh, hot and delicious - we dine there between 2-3 times a month - a top notch place to dine in the east end of Hamilton / Stoney Creek area
My husband and I visited this location with our 4 children. Their ages are 4, 2yr old twins and a 6 month old baby. Due to the age of our children and busy life style, we rarely get to dine out out as family so it is an extra special event when we do. For a few reasons, our family outting was dissapointing, and we will not visit this restaturant again. First, a warm plate (not hot-the food wasnt hot) with a serated knife was placed on the table in front of our 2 year old. Our appetizer plates were not cleared for the entire meal so we were limited in the space that we had to eat-since we organized our children in a way that would ensure their good behaviour. I asked for a glass of water 3 times. On the third time the server said, "oh yes I forgot the water". I never did get that water! The booth behind us has a party of 5 men. A manager of the restaurant was out socializing with the men at this table. Their voiced started to carry, and it was almost as if we were in a boys locker room. Then the profanities came out of the MANAGERS mouth. We grabed our bill and left immediately with no tip!
Living around here, I have given this place more than one opportunity to see if their mishaps were indeed mistakes. Right away I'll say if you are interested in ESM, find another location. Don't go to this one. I ordered sizzling calamari, which comes on a skillet straight out of the oven (appetizer), and it "sizzles". When I recieved it, it was hardly warm, and I was able to touch the skillet, which ususally does not happen because it is so hot. The week before, the calamari came out so burnt they shrunk in size. Half the time the waiters here forget what you ordered, or forget to bring something you ask for. My boyfriend got the hell's kitchen chicken, and everything was uniform in colour, dark brown, and the vegetables were all burnt around the edges. Also lukewarm. How can burnt food be cold? Well they manage to do it, and very often. I won't go back to this location. I did however go to one by Sherway Gardens Mall in Mississauga, which was delicious. ESM is a great place with excellent food, but if you are going to pay for it--and it is not cheap but worth the money--choose a location that you trust, because this place messes up a lot. I'm not the only one who thinks this. Upper James? I'll try there soon..
This is the only ESM that We'll eat at, the food/service is average but at least this 1 is consistent, the rest are a joke.
Strongly recommend the Hell's Kitchen Chicken made the old way with the angel hair pasta.
Great food and awesome service! Can't get enough free salad and bread!
Love this place...Sat outside on the patio and was served by Kat...although she was extremely busy she gave fantastic service..fast, friendly and was amazed at her ability to remember everything that we ordered. Food was terrific and the salad and bread kept coming...just how we like it!!! Definately return again!
i went the eastsides before and also had a great time its a good place to kick back and havae a good italian style meal (italian being my fav) service was good and fast even no the waitress brought the wrong kind of salad but i got the right one in no time nice place classy yet casual highly recommend!!:):)
Growing up in an Italian household I have tried just about every Italian dish from every Italian restaurant out there...until now. At East Side Mario's the pasta selection on the menu was quite impressive. The garlic bread was fresh, the pasta cooked to perfection and the service was fast. This place is perfect for Italian food...we had a great time there. I guess their slogan is true : "East Side Mario's East Side Mario's Hey Bada Boom Bada Bing"!!!
Eastside Mario's is the place to go for some good cheap Americanized Italian food. I reccommend the spit-roasted chicken with garlic mashed potatoes. Seafood linguini is great as well, and you can build your own pasta if you're a bit picky. May I suggest: angel hair pasta, bolognese sauce and Italian sausage, wonderful!
ESM is really not authentic Italian food. Its chain restaurant average and pricy for its quality. If you want good Italian food, you wont get it there. Though I will give them credit for good Ceasar salad and great service. Being an Italian and raised with that cuisine,I have to laugh.....
We were seated at bar because we wanted a booth seat, There appeared to be a few unused booths in the restaurant but it didn't seem like a big deal so we sat in the bar booth. Our watitress was the bar tender, and seemed to forgot about us. Our food was cold and very bad. The fries were uneatable. I would have told her if she was around to tell. After a long wait for our bill, another waitress gave us our bill. It was apparent that the fries were not eaten or barely touched, but no "how was it"? I didn't have the energy to complain at that time, left a 12 cent tip (not that was deserving but I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for them to come back with my change) We used to like this restaurant, now it will be a while before we come back again... if ever... at least at the Queenston Rd location.
