Eaten there 4 times now and can never wait to go back! Tasty steak, amazing appetizers; I recommend! Went on a Wednesday night, the mechanical bill was so much fun! Check it out!
We went primarily because we were both craving the buttery pan bread. My husband also loves their lemon milkshake. (Ugh!) Upon the recommendation of the server, I tried this spicy Thai chicken dish. It wasn't bad. I wouldn't have it again, but it was worth eating once. My husband had a burger, and he really liked it. I had to steal some of his fries because they were so good. The server was really chatty and friendly. Best servive we've ever had at this location, to be frank.
My wife and I visited Jack Astor's a couple of days ago. Our meals were fantastic and so was the service. Our meal portions were generous and our server, Alfie, was very friendly and attentive. I always love going to Jack Astor's - this is our favourite place to eat in Kanata.
They always focus on turning over tables. On three occasions we had our appetizer and entrees show up within a couple of minutes of each other despite asking for them to be served separately. Getting a refill on your drink in an excercise in futility. I find the quality of the food has delined and the "team service" is a joke. It has been a bad start to too many movie nights recently... so we won't return.
Service was horrible i was about to leave i waited 1.5 hours to get a meal just 2 steaks 2 baked potatoes fish and chips and a pasta. When i got the steak it wasnt even cooked wheni asked for well done there was blood flowing threw my plate and my baked potatoe was like eating a brick so i left it there i will never go back. I waited to long and got a bad meal to ever want to go back.
poor service, the cocktail waitress in the bar rushed us out. not alot of smiles like there should be, and poor atmosphere...
Great place. Very friendly, great service. Pop is always kept refilled. Food is fantastic and portions are big. I go often to this restaurant and I have never been dissapointed. Great shuttle service to sens games too!!

I have always enjoyed the food at this restaurant, but with the recent change in the menu my last dining experience was terrible. The menu items did not appeal to me nor did I or my dinner companions enjoy the selectins they had ordered. I am sorry to say that JACK ASTOR'S is no longer on the top of my list of restaurants to visit.
All food was excellent, hot, large portions, wings were excellent. Best service I've ever seen in a restaurant. Friendly, great kid atmosphere. Love the paper table covers, kids colour on them and they are sanitary. Pasta contained more chicken that I have ever seen in a pasta dish and it was excellent, bacon cheeseburger massive in size, excellent taste. This place is a must visit. One visit and you'll be hooked. Fabulous, friendly service. Our kids can't believe how great "frest, homemade" are.
The food was excellent and fast. Our drinks were a bit slow to come - but then the refills were prompt (not an empty glass). The garlic pan bread is to die for. My meal was excellent -food was hot and had a very generous portion. If you leave there hungry it's your own fault. Service was quite attentive. I really enjoyed the experience. We let them know that we were attending a movie afterwards and they ensured that we got out with plenty of time. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. At a previous visit had the lobster/crab dip - that is exceptional. Also had the nachos (supreme) at a previous visit enjoyed them as well.
Food was amazing, thai coconut curry is good! Service was amazing ,very quick, and a fun atmosphere. And those hostesses WOW! best girls in Kanata work there.
We enjoy going our meal everytime. We often havet he same thing so I can't speak on the other dishes. The bruchetta is the best one to date anywhere and the other dishes are always to our liking.
food was great, the team service provides fast and efficient service. its always a pleasure.

Bruchetta was amazing. The best I ever had.. Steak was prepared perfectly.
Not our type of restaurant. The food was average. What annoyed us was the atmosphere and the service (not the lack of it). It's loud in there. Conversation is impossible. The waiter came over to our table and pushed himself onto the cubicle seat. He then tried to upsell appetizers without even asking. "Let me get you......to start'. 'No" The table cloth is a roll of paper so he scrawled his name at the end. Trawling for a big tip. But young people like that brazen type of service in an 90 decibel setting. The food was not bad nor overpriced. Just the wrong crowd. If your over 40, think twice unless your taking kids out for a special occasion.
Pasta was disgusting.....sent it back because it was inedible. Sauce (if you can call it that) was just tons of sesame oil, no flavor, just oily. Spring rolls not bad but I was very ill for 24 hours after. Would stay clear of this one if I was you!
I'd give them a 0 if it was an option! My burger was ordered well done and was barely cooked it was more than pink in the middle. Beware, they put mayo on their burgers when it's not mentioned in the menu...YUCK! One of my co-workers got the wrong plate. Another got fries instead of a salad. Another had a wonderfully curly hair in her plate (at least she got a meal for free). They carded 3 of us who were well over 18 and since one of us did not have ID she was refused to drink alcohol even though she was 28. Overall I think this restaurant SUCKED!!! And the manager was not much help either.
