RAXX Billiards Bar & Grill

The Philly sandwich was good my complaint is $4 for pop with no refills. With tip and tax, you are paying $21 for 2 people to have a pop with a refill. I find that pretty insane and too close to an actual alcohol drink.

Bartender was extremely rude

The female bartender at the main bar was extremely rude, yelled at me and 2 other older gentlemen and all we did was ask for a drink. She didn't like the that the one gentleman didn't order right away and asked for a beer when she had gone on to his friend. She snatched his money from him and when she came back with my drink she started telling him off. I asked her for my change and she threw it and said 'bu-bye' and waved us off. She went over to her co-worker and began calling us names to her.

I walked in, on route home, for a beer. After nursing it at the bar for half an hour I asked for another and ordered the Texas burger. 10 minutes later a different waitress/bartender commented that she was watching for my burger and I said not to worry - it would probably be another 5 minutes. 20 minutes later I asked the original bartender about my order and she said there was a table of 15 in front of me but she would check. I could see the grill and it was empty so I asked if she'd forgotten my order. Her response wasn't believable so I cancelled my order and, for the first time in my life paying with VISA. left NO TIP. As a repeat customer I had expected, at the very least, reasonable service but what I got leaves me wondering why I should ever go back there...

Been a few years since we were at Raxx and were pleasantly surprised this week. Nice renovations make the place look brighter than before and lots of options for seating, pool tables, bar area, TVs, etc. Food was surprisingly good, particularly the chicken wings that were well cooked, perfectly sauced and quite meaty. This was not a Wednesday night so not sure if the wing quality is better/worse/same on the night that wings are discounted. It was a pleasure to have the option of blue cheese dip with real chunks of cheese in it. Wish more places served this with their wings and/or pizza! :) The salad was a huge serving and very fresh ingredients. The grilled chicken was finely shredded and nicely flavoured. I eat a lot of chicken and salad and this was a surprisingly good one. Red wine vinaigrette was a nice option too. Service was a bit slow for refilling drinks and for bringing out the food considering the place was practically empty but the order came exactly as requested including a couple of customizations to the salad. The menu is straightforward and not too complicated nor too many items. Could use a fewer lower-fat items but realistically I wouldn't expect to find much of that on a sports bar menu so not a big deal. We were quite surprised at the food quality and would come back. Really good food with excellent portion sizes...

Really good food with excellent portion sizes, especially the nachos. My only complaint: The waitresses seem to be really bad when it comes to drinks wether it's busy or not. I've been here on 3 seperate occasions, the first time the only thing I ordered was a drink, after about 35 minutes and my friends being served their meals and drinks the waitress finally looked at me and said "Oh! I forgot your drink!". The second visit I asked for a Corona and was given a vodka mix. The third visit, again, the waitress had forgot about the drink. **Each visit it was a different waitress, not the same one lol. I will definitely return and hoping to see some drink improvement. :)
