I have seen Mehdi Au LLP’s ads through italk bb and that is how I come to know the law firm. I spoke with lawyer Scott Ou who was friendly, knowledgeable and provided me with good recommendations on how to deal with my real estate closing. My mom was living in Beijing China and could not travel to Canada because she didn’t have a Canadian visa. Scott had a lawyer in Beijing and quickly arranged my mom to sign the documents in China. I think the legal fees to sign in Beijing were around 3000

Caution stay away! You will regularly see their name on TV especially on the Chinese networks.. Don't be fooled, this type of publicity can be bought and that's exactly what they have done. Took 3 calls before someone answered my calls. Asked about title insurance for my home purchase, given different answers all 3 times I called. After all that still decided to give them a go, was really blind sighted with all the paid advertisement exposures still believing them to be reputable. Dealt with Scott for my closing, he obviously didn't know my file or reviewed the file before hand. The statement of adjustment was off by almost $50k. He couldn't answer why. He could not answer most of my questions and referred me to go ask my bank since I'm getting the financing from them. The best part was he tried to small talk after the signing was done and even mentioned to me that if I buy again and need financing help his wife can help?! She can get best rates and she is really good at her job. How do you know my banker is not good and that I would be even remotely interested and isnt this somehow a conflict of interest? Do you think I have confidence in your ability or your wife's after my experience with your company? I almost feel like I'm being forced to comply. Anyhow I have followed up with their office about the incorrect statement of adjustment. They were supposed to call me but never did.*Surprise!* So I called them, again Scott is never there and their useless assistants just tells me it is not done yet... This is now week 2 since I signed. By the way when I asked if I can get a discount on my fees, I was hinted to pay in cash so I can avoid the taxes?! Is this really a law firm I'm dealing with? Is this even legal? Moral of the story is just because they are advertised everywhere it doesn't make them a reputable company. Because if you got the money for it you will get the exposure. So Buyers beware.
