On our first (and last) visit to the Belfast lounge, my wife and I both ordered fish. The fish was "off" and had to be sent back. The waitress was very apologetic but the manager was just the opposite. He was completely indifferent - no concern, no apology, no nothing. He wouldn't even come to our table (he was at a nearby table), but spoke through the waitress. Need;less to say, we wont be back
Good atmosphere.
Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. Thanks to our wonderful waiter, Mike. He is the greatest, very attentive, and very polite. I would definitely go back. Ask for Mike if you want great service.
I visited the Belfast Lounge last night (March 13th) to celebrate my friends birthday. The pub is very nice with beautiful woodwork! The service was awesome, the wait staff were very friendly! Two of us had the Red Snapper and the other had the 16 oz Prime rib. The food was AMAZING, very very tasty!!! We had a great time and an excellent meal. We will definately be returning to The Belfast Lounge in the very near future!
I would justlike to add to FFD's review. I was also in this party of 15. When we first entered the pub, our waiter told us there was not adequate seating for our party. Again the restaurant was empty aside from 2 tables with customers. We saw a section of tables along the side wall that would suit us just fine, and with a large huff, and pestered tone in his voice, he said "fine" and sat us. Instantly we felt his lack of desire to serve us. There were many sighs, and agreeing with FFD, he made it very known that he didn't want to tend to us. We were looking to spend money, which I think would be welcomed on a Saturday night in a nearly empty pub. We wanted drinks, food and most importantly, to feel welcomed like you do during your average pub experience. It was a great opportunity for tips that was completely dismissed. We were being treated like a rowdy group of teenagers even though we were a very well maintained, well mannered, quiet group of 30-somethings. We did our best to make it easier for the waiter. We were very curteous to him and agreeing to lump some of our bills together. Even this didn't seem to be enough to allow him to want to serve us. He did indeed point and scowl at us from behind the bar area while discussing his frustrations with a co-worker. When ever he came to bring us our orders, his eyes would roll and a large sigh would escape his lips. The lady that took over for him when he became to flustered did well in trying to recover the service. However, his presence around our table still made us feel uncomfortable. After one round of drinks, and a few people finished the food they had ordered, we were presented with our bill. We did not ask for it, but took the hint that we were no longer welcome. We did not see the hours that the pub was open. Perhaps it was closing time? None the less, they should have told us and not made us feel that we were being kicked out. Now, on a good note, the prices were fair, and the food looked quite appetizing. The physical atmosphere was appealing, but again, not what we expected for sign that said "pub and lounge" on it. It's just a shame that the rest of the atmosphere was so cold. Sure, we were a little out of place here, but we still deserved the service that everyone else on this review board recieved and loved.
I had an order of garlic bread to start which was excellent(very fresh) I had the Irish stew and my son had the belfast burger, my son and I enjoyed our dinner vey much. For dessert I had the bread pudding while my son had the apple pie and ice cream both dessarts were outstanding. I willl definetley be back to the belfast lounge for a bite to eat or for a nice pint of guiness.
I'be been working in this area for a long while now; however, have never been to this place before until today. This was my first time, but definately not the last. Great taste, great portions, great atmosphere, good service and great prices. Don't expect it to be busy in the evening/night time though as it's a industrial work area so most of the crowd comes around lunch. Overall it's probably the best pub style place in this area for lunch with work buddies.
Awesome lunch time service and great looking old style pub..i know pubs and this is a standout i know quite a few pub owners that could take a lesson from this place as far as staff uniform old school decor food quality service and especially portion versus price...this place is an excellent value and in a very busy commercial industrial area, if they could charge more per plate if they wanted but they are more then reasonable with their pricing. you can tell they relky on the pricipals of more then enough food at a very fair price.
We go to the Belfast on a regular basis for lunch. The food has always been excellent, as is the friendly service of the staff. The food sometimes takes a little longer to come, so if you're on a tight schedule at lunch you'll have to expect the possibility of running a little late. That being said, it's well worth the wait, as the food is always tasty and the portions are just right. As any good Irish pub would should, Guinness is on tap. Helpful hint - ask for Ashley, she's an attractive blonde girl who's friendly, quick and always gets the order right!
Visited Belfast on a Friday night and it was completely dead. I'd qualify this far more as a restaurant than a pub and was completely disappointed with the atmosphere. First off they had very sad irish music playing...felt more like a funeral parlour than a restaurant/pub. There's so much great Irish music that could have been played and it completely ruined it for me. I wanted to have a bite to eat but decided that this was not the place. If you are a senior citizen and don't want to interact with anyone this may be the place for you but if you are looking for a pub experience skip the belfast.
The salad was perfect, with just the right amount and consistency of dressing. Small is large enough and her pizza was cooked properly and quite flavourful...not an afterthought, my burger was large and homemade, right temperature and fresh bun and toppings. The fries are excellent, home-made with no crappy coating or seasoning on them! Its also evident that the oil is changed frequently and its not used to fry everything in the kitchen. The pub is spotless! which is rare for a pub, and the owner is always on hand and keeps a keen eye on detail. If you judge a pub by its washroom and food, you'll be back again and again, not to mention the very cozy atmosphere, ideal music, and friendly staff. I will go back...its my new local.
We had the Guinness Stew and my son had the pizza. The food was very good and the atmosphere very comfortable. I would go again.
Great atmosphere and there was a wind range of dishes to chose from. Love the lounge area.
