Mrs. Mitchell's is a lovely restored country school house and perfect Mulmur destination restaurant for a scenic country drive just 1-hr north of Pearson airport. Dinner is more than generous and the menu prices are worth the drive from Toronto - with lovely gardens and a Gift Shop to browse. Live Jazz on Friday nights is a highlight to our Entertainment Calendar.
this is the best restaurant... well for me... great food, huge portions, great presentation if you go in the fall and winter time the fireplace is on.. it has an old country charm with the plank floors the windsor back and press back chairs.. remember warm rolls, and salad comes with your meal always, so if you have an appetizer it's sometimes best to share it.. if they have the smoked mushroom soup well that's hard too share, but make sure you have room for the rest. Or you'll be going home with a foil swan! its a great place to just sit and enjoy,
We were recommended to this establishment by friends who dine there all the time. We are from Toronto and could never understand why they would drive 90 minutes to go for dinner. Now we understand! We went for a late seating on Saturday night ... entertainment was amazing .. not the regular guy sitting in the corner .. you have to experience it to understand it. We loved it. But more than that we thought the food was amazing. We did not have high expectations since we are used to eating at upscale "Toronto" establishments. But this place blew them all away. Service was excellent and the food was to die for ... perfection on a plate! Dinner is served with a salad and wonderfully baked bread included .. and this amazing little corn meal side dish .. I'd go back just for that.
Our first time here but definitely not our last. The decor and ambiance was beyond our expectations. The only thing better than the service was the food. Definitely worth the drive there again and again. The best lamb I think I've ever had. It arrived so beautifully I wasn't sure I wanted to eat it .. but it was even better than it looked. Who would have thought a restaurant in the middle of nowhere would be so amazing! Thanks again and we will definitely be returning with friends.
