Best of the Best, Taj hits the spot!! We have take out each time and the delivery is exceptionally fast. Food is packed perfectly and very clean. One bad weather night, we got a craving for Taj food. On this night they were not delivering. I spoke with Karan who always takes care of me! and explained our problem. KARAN ACTUALLY BORROWED A CAR TO DELIVER OUR FOOD!!!! Now, that is above and beyond excellent service!!! The portions are very large plus the food is THE BEST in the city!!!
Today, was the first time we tried the lunch buffet Great variety and the butter chicken I love with bone was amazing... And the veggie's delicious.
It was a funny coincidence, Larry O'Brian was having lunch their as well.
I will be back for sure.
I have had much better Indian food than this... The price was way too much for the amount served for the main dish, not to mention the Nan and Rice was all not included. A bow of rice alone was $4. The food felt it was not quite heated properly and was a bit cold.

Very homely and the staff is friendly to talk to. A couple of friends and I had spontaneously decided to eat at Taj and then again spontaneously decided to watch a movie right across. We informed the hostess of our change of plans and requested our meal to be given a little extra attention as we had to movie to catch. They were very flexible with our plans and our meal was arrived adequately and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The food is Finger-Lickin' bloody awesome! hahah. My favourite, the Butter Chicken is just out of this world. The food was high quality and very enriching. If I go to a restaurant, I don't mind paying the extra dollars for Quality. In the end....thats what's more important. Quality and Quantity..and we were fortunate to have both. In some restaurants, one element is lacking and can decrease the enjoyment. I love the food and I will be back and I suggest you all to go. NOW. GO. NOW. hahah.

We were in a hurry for the movies, so we stopped by this small indian restaurant.
Never tried it, so like new people we guessed and picked what sounded good. And a few of us have tried Indian food before.
This place is great!

Have tried several Indain Resturant from Kingston[ON] to Quebec City. This is by far the Best experinece We ever had, from the quality of the Food, the Atmosphere and friendly service.ALL WAS NOTHING BUT EXCELLENT!!

I can't understand all the good reviews. We went to this restaurant based on the strength of these reviews. The naan was evidently not made in an oven but out of a bag just reheated in an oven maybe, the paneer was tough and the service very mediocre. The attentive service was provided to certain types of people. Will not return, there are too many other good restauarants I have been too in the city.
Butter chicken was really good as always and i ordered chicken tikka this time and i liked it more than the butter chicken, probably it tasted better with naan. I visited this 3-5 times. If you are really hungry just order the curry and lot of butter naan. Worth spending money to order lot of food. Its really good, everyone should try this place and the service was really good. This is one of the restaurant I would revisit again and again and never get tired of it.
I saw this small restaurant a week before Valentines day, when I went to go watch a movie with my boyfriend.
So as usual, I looked it up on the internet.

My 1st experience was a delight and especially to see my family enjoy was even better.
As always, I am impressed when I go to The Taj. The butter chicken is superbly rich, with hot buttery nan bread to soak up the sauce. the mulligatawny soup is to die for, with slices of lemon that give just that extra bit of flavour, that pushes it over the top. And the deserts! Gulab jamun that is heaven on the tongue, with a spicey cup of chai to finish off. Always, a bottle of good Indian beer with the meal. And the service is the best I've seen in any restaurant. Because I come from Kemptville to dine here, the owner almost treats me like one of the family. I have been here for lunch and dinner, and unlike other restaurants in Ottawa, I have never been disappointed.

The service was attentive and efficient, the food was just right--mild Lamb and spicy Beef both very flavorful.
We felt welcome and were very well fed.
Last Week we went for a girls night out at the Taj Indian Cuisine.
I must say the butter chk is to die for! Wow...
Naan bread, raitha, Sag Paner and pulao were great also.
Pleasant hosts.
Overall our visit was memorable.
Will visit soon.
