We've tried a handful of Chinese food delivery restaurants, and this one has been by far the best, in our opinion. Consistently good, very reasonable portion sizes and prices. Also have had fairly quick delivery.
Called for delivery, and was placing my order, decided to pick up instead of waiting the hour they had told me... was told "okay 20 minutes bye" and was hung up on without giving my name or phone number. I called back and the OWNER said she was having phone problems, I told her that she said bye and she told me she was busy tonight. When we got the food it was spongy and cold, and our chicken balls were the WORST I have ever had! (which to us is the best part!) I called back to let them know how disappointed I was and was talking to the OWNER! She kept saying that they were busy, and there was no way the food was bad, and that she didnt get my number because she has caller ID (which is SO unprofessional! you still verify the name and address!) She had absolutely no interest that a customer was unhappy with the service/ food, and ended the conversation laughing at me! So now for the first time EVER, we have leftover chinese food. No credit for another meal, no apology, NOTHING. I will never go there again, and I recommend AGAINST "DAISY"
We like to go to Daisy for lunch and often order supper and pick it up to take home. We have always had great service and the waitress is kind and efficiant. The food is always fresh and vegetables are cooked to perfection, not over cooked. It is our favorite chinese food restaurant in Peterborough and we don't go there for their decor. Like most chinese food restaurants, they are 'old style' and we are okay with that because their food is great!!
For price paid the food is above standard! Friendly waitresses. We travel from Hastings to have chinese here now and then and are never disappointed! Well recommended for those days you don't want a 10 minute line to get something on your plate! A1!
The wife and I decided to order takeout, as a last minute idea Solution for dinner. The last time we ordered from a different restaurant (on Parkhill), and that turned out to be absolutely revolting for our Chinese food fix, so we decided to give Daisy a try. The food was a long time getting here, as the driver got lost. The food was, however, still hot and we actually could not believe how much food we did get for under 25 bucks. Another very good point to note was that each of the items came wrapped in their own plastic containers, minus the fried noddles for the soup, which were dumped in the bottom of the bag. Although this was not an issue for us some of you may want in a separate bag to avoid the proverbial 52 noddle pick up. The accoutrements were also served aplenty, having enough soya sauce to last at least another 5 meals. All the food was awesome, with the only complaint being that there was not enough meat in the soup, however, to be fair that is always the case when it is good, right? In brief the meal was welcoming and tasty, the service slow however, and the portions were very large for the 2 person combo that is was meant to be. In fact had enough left overs for another meal the next day. Will definitely order from our new favorite Chinese food restaurant again.
Have been to Daisys many time, had lunch and dinner buffett as well as take out. Always pleasently pleased with food and service (language barrier not overly an issue) . Well Friday night we decided to do buffett for our Friday night dinner out restaurant tour-this buffett is the most reasonable in town so it fir our budget of the week. We arrived at 5:30 to be a little disapointed at the lack of food in the buffett trays and the remainder dry. Started with soup in hopes they would be filled and fresh when ready. Well we werent disapointed, fresh ,full serving trays met us by the time we were done our soup. Food was the standard chinese fare and average taste- enjoyable. Only disapointment was Friday night buffett has crab legs on it and when they were emptied they were never refilled, while we were their. Will return as they are always friendly, food is enjoyable-average (never been disapointed ) and the economical price for a buffett is good when budget times hit you.
this was an overall bad experience. When we came into the restaurant at around 3:00pm we were told the buffet was closed. We figured that was fine we would just order off the menu. We were told we could find a seat. We seat ourselves and then the lady comes over and asks for our drink orders. My friend wanted an alcoholic beverage... she was told that they dont do them right now(although they are on display on the place mats). We ended up ordering sodas. We were then asked if we know what we want...my friend still needed a few minutes. We were told that we better order soon before the guys in the kichen start making their lunch. I thought that was sooo unprofessional. We then got our food...the chow mein tasted burnt and was not very good at all...the rice had a funny taste and not alot of flavour, the chicken balls were pretty much the only thing that was satisfactory...(how do u screw up chicken balls?) . We were then given the bill way too early as we were still eating because all the workers went to the back table of the restaurant to eat their lunch together. We were then unnecessarily rushed out....even tho there was noone else in the place... Maybe its usually better, but from my exerience i will not be going there again. Very unprofessional and managed very poorly.
Trust me when I say my friends and I have tried every buffet in the city and this is the one! Food quality is excellent Service is a bit slow sometimes but who cares, its buffet anyways. Could use a bit of a switch up when it comes to the buffet every once and a while, can get tired of the same food all the time.
The food was alright. Pretty much just like Chinese food you could get at the mall. Service was not bad, people were friendly but we weren't offered menus or told prices. We will not be going back.
The service is always great, they are always making sure we have everything we need. The food is awesome! Out of all the chinese buffets in Peterborough, Daisy is by far the best!
I love the Daisy!! This is a great little restaurant. There buffet may be smaller than what many are used to seeing but it more than makes up for it in it's originality. Sure, it has the staples that the less adventurous are used to seeing (Egg Rolls, Chicken Balls, Won Ton soup etc), But they also have Thai Chick Satays, General Tsao's Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Spring Rolls and other great things. There Menu is also really good. There are many interesting dishes at very affordable prices. The Fried Tofu with Vegetables is to die for, as well as the Ginger beef. They're dinner for 4 is under $40.00 and includes Fried rice, Spingrolls, Egg Rolls, Dim Sum and 3 choices from the menu. It's more than enough food for 4 adults. It's a casual family restaurant and we enjoy taking our 2 and 4 year olds there.
This is a quiet little chinese restuarnt that has an even smaller buffet. The wait staff is super friendly and the prices are good. I recommend their different soups, Wonton and Sweet and Sour
