We came in when very busy on a Fri night and we were seated in a mere 10 mins. The service was fast and friendly. I was amazed at how good the service was in comparison to how majorly busy they were. My steak was cooked to perfection and my wife enjoyed her meal as well. I recommend dining at this casual establishment.
...at my wife's suggestion (she frequents the place at lunch) we went here before a concert at the ACC. We got there early so we would be sure to get a good seat, and get a few drinks in before the show. Knowing who would be there that night, they were playing the bands concert videos on the TVs. The staff was very nice, friendly, and attentive. (Not to mention - all the female staff were drop dead gorgeous - for a second I thought the wife had brought me to a "Gentlemen's" club). The food was surprisingly good. I was actually quite shocked, as I had been to a different location before, and was not impressed at all. Will definitely go back next time we catch a concert or event at the ACC.
the food is great. the waitress usually comes right when you need her. the tables are covered with paper so the kids could draw on them with provided crayons. its a great place for kids and adults
I'm a fan of Jack Astor's as a rule, and this location was no exception - great atmosphere and great food. The service was lacklustre, however. Items were continually forgotten throughout the night. Even in the lounge, awaiting our table, our drink server was slightly catty and seemed annoyed we weren't ordering anything, and simply taking up space. Not a good way to make customers feel welcome. The meal made up for it all in spades.
... and I dont know why I keep trying. I've had one good experience out of four. This place always seems understaffed and it really shows with the lack of service. With the exception of the garlic cheese bread, the food is just OK. Which is not what I expect for a 23 dollar steak. Overall, the experience and food left a bitter taste in my mouth and I dont think I will be returning.
We went to the location in Richmond Hill. It took half an hour to find parking and half and hour to be seated. The menu changed a while back and it is not as good. If I wanted Asian food I would have went to an Asian restaurant. Why are you serving Asian food???? Some of my favourite dishes are not there anymore. The service is better then the food.
I visited the Jack Astor's in Oshawa. I always enjoy the food and the atmosphere. It's fun fast and fabluous. I would recomend this restaurant to anybody who want to have a good time and good food.
Jack's in toronto is different from smaller cities, it's more upscale but still has that comfortable bar and grill fun atmosphere. I've been too many times to count and have never been disappointed with a single dish. Sit in the lounge if you want a more intimate evening. Service is generally always great with the exception of when it's busy (they might benefit from a few extra staff). Over all I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good dining experience.
