At 84 years old, Charlie Sigvardsen still has a childish twinkle in his eye, and a wonderful grin on his face. “I’m still having fun,” he says of his work with Charlie's Chocolate Factory, the iconic Lower Mainland business he started back in 1970.
It’s clear Charlie still has passion for his life’s work. His granddaughter Ellen says he spends six days a week in the shop, apart from a few days in summer to tend to his garden. He’s still very much the face of the business, delighting in leading tours of the factory, and explaining the candy-making process to visitors.
