Zohreh Alisadeghi and her husband Mohammed Amir-Jabbari didn’t set out to pursue anything too fancy or complicated in life; the duo has always valued simplicity and warmth above a pretentious attitude. So when they were presented with an opportunity to open their own restaurant in Port Coquitlam, they worked hard to retain those same values at their burgeoning business.
One of the things Zohreh and Mohammed refuse to compromise on is the quality of their food. “Almost everything is homemade,” says Zohreh. “The beef and lamb comes from a nearby factory, but everything else we make by ourselves.”
Zohreh and Mohammed prepare all of their dishes in house, chopping the vegetables themselves, seasoning and cooking the chicken, and using secret recipes to make the sauces. It may sound like extra work to some, but for these hands-on owners, there’s just no other way of running a restaurant. “That’s why it’s so healthy,” Zohreh notes.
