Since she was a child, Gallery Beads and Gifts owner Rhonda Price has loved working with beads. “I’ve always been fascinated bythe colours and the huge number of different beads available” she recalls. “I love meeting people and talking about crafting and beading, so opening up a store seemed like the right thing to do.”
When she was first looking for locations to open her business, Rhonda loved the idea of setting up shop historic Fort Langley. “It’s a fabulous spot with lots of history. I thought it would be a great place to combine beads and a day out,” she says. “You can have an afternoon out with friends and make some jewellery as well.”
Rhonda has since created a casual, welcoming spot for both die-hard beaders and those who are just starting out. “Our store is very user friendly and customer service is very important. I wanted a place where people felt comfortable just dropping in for a visit and making some jewellery,” she explains. “In the time we’ve been open I’ve made quite a few new friends and it’s a great feeling to know that you are really connecting with your customers.”
