“I’ve always had a passion for fashion,” says Iliana Rosabal, owner and creative director of Cachè Couture Atelier. Growing up in Cuba, her personal style was influenced by European culture and led her to pursue fashion design in Italy.
Before calling Vancouver home, she travelled and worked in some of the fashion capitals of the world. “I was in Italy, Turkey and Russia, and fashion over there is so unbelievable, and I felt that Vancouver was missing that,” says Iliana. “There are a lot of brand names here, but there wasn’t a place offering haute couture for both men and women, so I wanted to provide this.”
“Haute couture expresses a high-fashion design of your authentic self, and not a ready-made version of who you are supposed to be,” says Iliana. Working by appointment, she collaborates with each client to create the exquisitely designed and handcrafted garment they desire.
“We design all types of garments: jackets, suits, pants, evening gowns, prom dresses, suits for men – absolutely everything” says Iliana. “Each client is treated as if they were the only one. I love bringing their ideas and style dreams to life.”
Since opening Cachè Couture Atelier in 2013 in the city’s sophisticated South Granville district, Iliana has been pleased to work with local Vancouverites as well as international clients, who travel from as far as Saudi Arabia for her custom creations. “The response from clients has been wonderful,” says Iliana proudly.
I am completely in love with this place. The store is very beautiful and staff is friendly and professional. Coming back for my engagement party dress.
