Second renovation with Jamie Gillis (Gillis Residential Renovators) and we are thrilled. We had a beautiful new deck built that everyone (including us) has raved about. Jamie and Darren are wonderful to work with, great to have in your home and have stayed within budget on each of our projects (no surprises!). Highly recommend this company.
Jamie and his crew renovated our main floor bath in December 2017. It was a great experience, and we highly recommend Gillis Residential Renovators to anyone looking for an excellent job done by a top-notch crew and sub-contractors. They communicated well and were a pleasure to have in our home; we always knew what was taking place and when, and the work was done extremely well and with our input and numerous questions fully answered. We are 100%+ satisfied with our new bathroom.
Only choose GRR if you want your reno to be done extremely well, by wonderful people and on budget. We had the pleasure of having Jamie & Darren in our home for a full bath and laundry room reno, along with a small group of great sub-contractors. They are friendly & professional – their work is top-notch with incredible attention to detail. After a lot of frustration we found a contractor who is genuine, professional, trustworthy, patient and reasonably priced. We had a MAJOR job that involved turning our main floor into a gorgeous open concept living area. We made 2 bdrms into 1 large one with a walk-in closet. We installed new windows and new flooring. Jamie and his team were wonderful to deal with. Jamie made our vision happen within our budget by combining our own ideas with his wisdom and style. We could not be more pleased!
Jamie and his whole team - including subcontractors - were amazing to work with from start to finish. We had our kitchen completely gutted and remodeled. Jamie's creativity, attention to detail (including budget) and sense of humour made the whole process a smooth one. The end result is a kitchen that's become the heart of our home and really reflects our personalities. We will definitely be using Gillis Residential Renovators again!
Trustworthy, honest, fun to be around, hard working, fantastic end-result - no cutting of corners. Also, all people he contracted to do work (water drainage around the house, electrical, etc) were respectful, very pleasant to deal with, efficient and did excellent work. This contractor is an artist. I would highly recommend him.
If I could give more stars, I would! I recently purchased an old house for my mother and for an incredibly reasonable price, Jamie and his team transformed it from a ramshackled looking house into a beautiful home for my mother to live in. They were great to work with. Upfront and honest about costs. They were looking for ways to save me money and made sensible recommendations. They were adaptable and the workmanship was wonderful! I am very satisfied and will use them again.
Jamie Gillis and his team were absolutely brilliant and knowledgeable with the construction of our back yard deck. He mad suggestions that we included in the plans that made the project that much better. The quality of workmanship and durability of the deck we will be enjoying it for a long time, I would recommend him to any of my friends or family members without hesitation.
Jamie was one of the few contractors who even bothered to respond to my emailed request for an estimate on a project I had at my home in Dartmouth. It involved reconnecting a deck, replacing the stairs and repairing a section of framing and siding at the rear of my house that had deteriorated from water damage. Jamie and his crew were professional, courteous, efficient, knowledgeable and trustworthy in every respect. They were a pleasure to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.
My basement flooded, was unhappy with the contractor the insurance company hired, so I settled with the insurance company (I didn't even know you could do this). I asked Jamie to give me a quote on a total basement reno and I hired him. My wife and I are very pleased with the work Jamie and his guys did! Not only do they do great work but they make suggestions and have good ideas. I have used Jamie for several jobs now and am always pleased with the end result! I would recommend him to anyone.
We hired residential renovators to replace the shingles in our roof and the drywall in our kitchen. The total cost came in lower than the original quote. Unused materials were returned and credited back to my account. The roof and the drywall were done to my satisfaction. I recommend Jaime Gillis and his team for your roof and drywall repairs.

We recently used Gillis Residential Renovators to put an addition on our older home. The renovation came out beautifully and blends seamlessly with the existing home. I had been unsatisfied with a quote from a cabinet company when looking to custom build a built-in unit for my baby's nursery and also told I would not get exactly what I wanted. I contacted Gillis Residential Renovators and not only did they beautifully build the perfect unit, but the cost was very reasonable!! I was extremely happy with how quickly the project went and the team was very courteous!
