"We tend to stock European designers as they fit the best," says Eva Klein, owner of Kathryn’s Lingerie. "In fact, I think they’re next to none." Eva didn't always work in the lingerie trade. For years she worked in government, but by and by helped out at her mother's lingerie store, eventually taking it on full time in 1995. "I have so much respect for my mom,” says Eva. "She came here as an immigrant, started the store in 1988 and did very well for herself getting a business off the ground. I took over when she retired in 2011."
Clientele here reflects the mother-and-daughter team with customers in mom’s age group still able to find what they want on the shelves, and Eva knowing exactly what her contemporaries are looking for. "That was the hardest thing to learn at first," Eva laughs. "I had to resist the temptation to buy the lingerie that I liked. You have to know your customers inside and out and pick for them. It gives me a lot of pride when a lady tells me she loves what she bought here."
