At the age of nine, Dara Fox knew she wanted to open a business. Her mother even gave her a children’s book on small businesses called Better Than a Lemonade Stand. “I felt there was no other option for me, my mind had been set,” says Dara inside her comfortable Bathurst Street studio, Designher.
While studying fashion design at George Brown College, she started a business that specialized in handcrafted jewellery. Eventually this early entrepreneurial effort would overlap with Designher Co., which she opened in 2012.
