Evolve Complete Chiropractic Care’s moniker works on many levels.

It starts with the clinic’s owner and director, Dr. Michael Sommers, who graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2005. “While I was in school,” he says, “I had absolutely no interest in going into business for myself. We were thrown into the world with mechanical, practical and clinical knowledge, but in no way educated in business acumen. I had zero.”

Fast forward nine years and Michael is heading up a thriving business that has grown by leaps and bounds since it was founded as a one-man show in 2007. Evolve’s staff of 10 now includes chiropractors, naturopaths and registered massage therapists, with a bright, airy reception area and four treatment rooms.

What changed? “I worked for someone else for three years, and learned a lot of negative lessons about what I didn’t want,” Michael explains. “I learned that if I was going to provide care the way I wanted to, I was going to have to start my own business.”
