Rod Moore lives and breathes everything tiki. Having already opened a tiki restaurant and bar in his native Vancouver, he set his sights on Toronto, convinced that the city desperately needed an authentic tiki bar of its own. After months of searching for the best location, he found an unassuming spot in Parkdale, met Alana Nogueda (who became his business partner) and went to work. It took only 60 days to transform a dull, concrete space into an exotic, Polynesian-inspired tiki paradise.
The Shameful Tiki Room opened its doors in November 2015, and has since become a popular hotspot for both locals and visitors, but you would never know by looking at the simple exterior facade that a tropical oasis resides inside.
