Don’t let the size fool you. This Little Piggy, a boutique baby shop in Parkdale, might be cozy, but owner Faye Moxam has stocked it with everything parents need for preemie babies up to preschool toddlers. “There’s definitely a feel that it’s the essentials,” says Faye, pointing to the colourful selection of footwear and clothing for babies, from Ollie Jones printed leggings to the popular handmade Minimoc baby moccasins.
Expectant mom and dads will also praise the selection at This Little Piggy. “You can create a registry knowing that you’ve covered all of your bases and have everything that you need for the baby,” Faye explains. The FITsplint, a band that wraps around a pregnant belly to alleviate back pain and help tighten stretched abdominal muscles, is the store’s bestseller.
Faye prides herself on stocking the boutique with unique gifts that new moms and dads would love and might not be able to find anywhere else. “I try to find things that a lot of other baby stores don’t have and things that I would like to see for my own children, being a mom,” she says. The LOVEYOU nightlight, for instance, is a favourite among customers and a great present for a baby shower, according to Faye. “Because you can’t find it in many other stores, you never have to worry about showing up to a shower with the same gift as someone else.”
