Porkapalooza, a festival dedicated to barbecue, takes over Clarke Field June 17 to 19, 2016. While barbecue pros from across Western Canada compete, local restaurants and food trucks will give the people what they want: succulent, saucy barbecued pork. Meat Barbecue Ltd

This popular Whyte Avenue hotspot will be coming to Porkapalooza and bringing their A game. Their menu includes the mostly heavenly pulled pork you've ever tasted, plus melt-in-your-mouth brisket, delectable Andouille sausage, juicy, apple glazed smoked chicken, barbecue ribs and fried chicken, plus a smoked meat feature. You'll drool over everything but be sure to save some room for their heavenly garlic fries.

New Indian Sweets & Restaurant

This southern barbecue restaurant serves up all the classics, including pulled pork, beef brisket, barbecue chicken and mac and cheese. Whether you prefer your proteins stacked high on a sandwich or on a platter, you'll be pleased. They do family-style meals too, with options like ribs and chicken.

Attila the Hungry (Food Truck)

This Asian fusion food truck changes their menu regularly, but the quality of the food always remains the same. Some of their regular items include crispy duck tots, the Peacemaker (a handmade burger with Thai peanut butter, strawberry sriracha jam and crushed peanuts on a brioche bun) and the Attila Dog (a hot dog with pineapple relish, cabbage and spicy coconut sauce). They also serve up inventive twists on classic dishes, such as chicken and waffles, Korean beef grilled cheese and the Shredder (their take on pulled pork).

Smokehouse BBQ Food Truck

This food truck is so popular that it actually led to a full-fledged restaurant. Smokehouse BBQ smokes their meat low and slow for at least 12 hours over Okanagan apple wood, making it tender and flavourful. There is no shortage of meat here — the bacon bomb, their most popular item, is Italian spiced sausage meat wrapped in bacon and then smoked. Their sandwiches, such as the pulled pork or burnt ends beef brisket, are epic, too.

Bully (Food Truck)

Some of their most popular dishes include their pork creations, such as the Brandy peppercorn brie burger, which is made with Alberta pork, or the Bully Bomb, which combines AAA Alberta beef with Alberta pork into one patty. The menu also boasts creative items, such as a turkey Ruben Kaiser, a pizza burger, a Cajun pork burger wrapped in smoked bacon and several variations of a Philly cheesesteak. You can also order wraps, burritos, soups and salads.

Fat Franks

What started as three hot dog carts has grown into a full-fledged empire. Fat Franks serves up custom-made hot dogs, sausages and smokies on locally made buns, with tons of unique toppings — they offer more than 15 sauces and 15 different condiments. Chow down on a honey ham or jalapeno and cheddar smokie, Italian or turkey sausage, a jumbo Fat Frank or a veggie Fat Frank. They also offer chorizo, Polish and bratwurst sausages. Plus, many of their meats are gluten-free.
