Tea is a comforting, cup of goodness that brings people together all over the world. Every culture, country and region has tea amongst its people, many even basing their cultures around it. It’s no question then, that as you stroll the streets of Halifax, you should stop at some point for a tea. And when you do, here’s where you should go.

You may walk by this café and stop in just for the gelato, but you’ll stay for the huge selection of tea flavours. The café devotes an entire wall to housing all of the loose leaf tea canisters, offering everything from herbal to green to rooibos to matcha. Pair it with any of their delicious vegan treats, and you will have a great teatime. The hardest part will be choosing what type of tea to have!

Perfect for tea all year round, The Nook does special iced teas in the summer to cool you down, and has a great selection of hot teas and hot specialty tea drinks during the chillier winter months. Choose from some of their unique green teas, herbal blends or anything in between. They also have some really cute and comfy seating arrangements in the café, so plan to stay a while and sit and sip your tea!

With a seasonally rotating tea selection, and over a hundred different kinds to choose from, it’s easy to see why this place is always packed with people. If you’re lucky, you may get a table and be able to sit and enjoy your tea selection, but don’t be surprised if they’re all full and you’re left with tea to go. It’s true, they are a coffee roaster and one of the forefathers of fair trade coffee in Nova Scotia, but they also have an equally impressive fair trade tea selection both at the café and to buy to take home. Whether you want a classic Earl Grey, or something a little different to try, they’ll have something to please you, and will even make it into a fancy drink.
