Going out to eat can be a bit restrictive if you’re vegetarian. Options are limited, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go out for some good food! These restaurants are some of my favourite places for some vegetarian food! [Image credit: iStock.com/haoliang]
Padmanadi serves vegetarian and vegan twists on Indonesian, Thai, Chinese and Indian cuisine. It’s located right in Chinatown, and is probably one of the best vegetarian places I’ve tried in Edmonton. I’m always baffled that it’s vegetarian. They also have a booth during Taste of Edmonton food festival, which is always good!
Narayanni’s is a nice and quaint restaurant right off Whyte Avenue. It is the definition of a mom and pop restaurant. The atmosphere is really great and very homey. They do a vegan buffet every Tuesday that feature a variety of dishes! They sometimes change, so if you really want to know what’s being served, you can call, but it’s all good!
Arcadia is a neat little bar on 124 Street. Sometimes, you want to go out for drinks, but typical bar food that’s vegetarian and delicious can be hard to come by. Arcadia addresses that problem by offering a lot of great vegetarian and vegan dishes! You can order a few great dishes and then wash it down with local beer!
If you live around Whyte Ave and are not sure where to go, I definitely recommend giving this place a try. It’s a great place that serves a variety of vegan dishes. Couple this with good vibes and some live music, this place is hard to beat! I really like their different kinds of tacos! Give this place a try.
Farrow comes to you by the makers of Three Boars Eatery. It’s a small little coffee and sandwich shop right on 109 Street. They always have a vegetarian featured sandwich. It’s by far one of my favourite place to grab a quick bite to eat! One of my favourite things about this place is that their sandwiches change quite often! Check out their Instagram for what’s being served.
Loma House is one of my go-to places for vegetarian dim sum. I really enjoy going out for dim sum every now and again, but the options for my vegetarian friends at a typical dim sum place is kind of limiting! This place also offers a lot of other dishes as well, like curry vermicelli, teriyaki “chicken” and spicy eggplant! On top of all this, their prices are pretty good, too.
