Whether you’re booking a special birthday party or an intimate wedding reception, there are definite benefits to hosting a private event at a restaurant – the food and service is guaranteed to be spectacular. These Edmonton spots have private rooms of varying sizes, for everything from stagettes to office holiday parties.
There are two options for private rooms at Lazia, a gorgeous fusion restaurant. The first is an intimate space, found just off of the restaurant’s entrance. The thick curtains keep out on-lookers and noise, and the speakers can be dimmed. The table comfortably seats about six people, making it perfect for talking strategy. If you have a bigger crowd but still want your own space, there’s a larger area at the back of the restaurant, where a big group (20 or so) can hang out for the evening – ideal for small wedding receptions, bachelor parties, stagettes or birthday parties.
As anyone who has visited the bathrooms in this tequila bar and restaurant knows, the basement is an amazingly cool tequila cellar/party zone. It’s available for private parties of 20 to 85 people, Tuesday to Sunday (the space opens up to the public on Fridays and Saturdays at 9 p.m.). It’s a great place to dance (ideal for birthdays or stagettes) or hold a stand up reception but can be set up for a sit-down meal, too. The drink list is long and interesting, and the food is fun and delicious.
There are multiple private dining options at this restaurant. They offer a Chef’s Table for four people, where guests sit right in the kitchen and can chat with the chef’s as their meal is prepared. Another cool option is a private table for up to four people, set up in a converted elevator shaft (it’s fancier than it sounds!). There are also four other rooms - for 12, 14, 20 or up to 50 guests, respectively. One of the spots has a projector screen and internet, while the largest room has a built-in LCD projector and drop down screen.
This local brewery has a beautiful main room that can be booked for small weddings or parties. The Yellowhead room features exposed brick and rustic-chic décor. It fits about 60 people. The other option is the Tasting room, which seats about 10 to 12 people, and can be used for board meetings, private karaoke parties or birthday dinners. The best part of booking a party of wedding here is that you can add a tasting event or brewery tour! Even if you don’t like beer, the tour is very interesting and informative.
This steakhouse hosts private parties in their Vintage room, which can seat up to 30 people, or accommodate 50 guests at stand-up events. They do ask that parties of 15 people or more partake in a set menu instead of a la carte. There are several group menus consisting of three courses (with plenty of options!) on their website. This large restaurant also offers groups of 18 people or more semi-private seating in their dining room. Located in Commerce Place downtown, Lux is a fantastic location for a business lunch meeting.
The private dining area at this downtown Indian restaurant accommodates up to 35 guests for meetings or parties. The room is equipped with a screen, projector, DVD player and microphones. You can plan a custom menu for your party, order from the a la carte menu or indulge in a buffet of East Indian delicacies. They’re open every day of the week, and the cuisine is always delightful.
You’ll notice the Manor’s cute little private room as soon as you walk into this restaurant, located in a historic home near the High Street shopping complex. The private room, which seats six to eight people, is found just off of the restaurant’s entry way. Fortunately, you can close the door to the room, to preserve your privacy and keep noise from filtering in. It’s perfect for meetings or intimate dinners with family or friends. And, the food is always excellent and staff are great at accommodating guests with food allergies.
This Indian restaurant offers a private room that seats 12 to 24 guests. The room comes with a television and audio visual equipment, making it ideal for meetings or parties. Another option is the chef’s table private room, which holds eight to 12 guests. Guru’s menu features Indian cuisine with Asian twists – and there are plenty of options for vegetarians, which is great for a group dining experience.
With five different private rooms available, The Moose Factory is the ideal spot to host everything from a family dinner to a wedding reception. Their smallest room, the Chardonnay room, holds three to 10 people and overlooks the restaurant. The Sterling room is the largest available, and is able to accommodate anywhere from 50 to 120 guests. Each room has a media system, wireless internet and television. Some of their private rooms are not wheelchair accessible, so be aware of that when booking.
