While Zen is our favourite Japanese Restaurant, my boyfriend and I have enjoyed dining here for their enoki maki (thin slices of beef wrapped around enoki-Japanese mushrooms). Their nigiri and sashimi while delicious is not a priority for us to order as they serve very thin small pieces for the price you pay. We have also had their sukiyaki (we cook ourselves on the table) and it is large enough for 3 people, although much more expensive ($60 for 2 people which includes rice and raw egg for dipping) than other restaurants where we have enjoyed the same. The sukiyaki comes traditionally (as they served), with slices of thin sukiyaki beef, tofu, Chinese cabbage, green onion, oyster mushrooms, shitake mushrooms and regular mushrooms, transparent thin noodles and onion. Their broth was excellent-not too sweet. A great meal to have on a cold day. Lire plus

I was looking for one of the new places to try north of 7, and came across this restaurant. They have very little parking out front, perhaps more behind - or if you want to park across the street and brave the insane driveway, there's more parking there. I am occidental - and was the only one here, which is a relatively good sign. The food arrived super hot but took longer than it does in some nearby Dim Sum places. The delivery people were very clean and well dressed which was pleasing. I was given really nice Jasmine tea when I sat down - but was charged $1 for it....I don't mind, but I've not been charged for tea before (I think of it as water...perhaps it's a Dim Sum thing). The shrimp dumplings had good firm shrimp, with nice flavour, as did the steamed rice noodles. I should have gotten a veg dish but didn't want to overeat. The mango pudding presentation was very nice - a heart form with nice cream / sweetened condensed milk. I'll probably try it again - but felt a bit out of place. Lire plus

I really like this restaurant. It will have your order ready within 10 minutes. If I'm ever working from home or just don't have time to cook, this is very quick and feasible option. The other day, I placed an order for a slightly spicy meal and went home. I found the meal too spicy for my taste so I asked if I could get a milder version. They just asked me to bring the original meal back & they provided me a fresh meal according to my liking within 10 minutes. Now, that's good customer service. The food was really good and the staff was really friendly too! The food there will always be amazing... The owners there constantly keep an eye on the chef. They can smell any imperfections in your dish (eg. more wine, more sauce, etc). Mei Ling has been around since we moved to Aurora 26 years ago and the food is always consistent (Great) their Chilli Squid is one of their specialty and it is to die for. Mei Ling is our only choice my family loves it. The people who own it are wonderful too always polite curtious and always making sure that their customers are happy. It was pretty decent. We got the beef wrapped in pancake, smoked pork with pancake and shrimp dumplings. It's a lot of carbs, so you get full pretty quickly. Let me start off by first saying the portions are generous and the food is delicious (especially the general tao chicken which is the perfect amount of spicy and sweet). The service was great and made sure we were enjoying our meal. As a resident of Aurora, I (like the previous reviewer) used to need to go south to either Richmond Hill or Markham before I get a taste of authentic Chinese food but now that I have discovered a local gem I am highly impressed. For 10$ a person excluding taxes, you get authentic asian style soup (NOT cream of corn or vegetable soup), starter salad, main course, authentic asian dessert (none of that green tea ice cream stuff) AND a large bubble tea drink. The seats and tables are spacious and comfy, the place is ALWAYS clean, the decor is VERY nice, the place doesn't look sketch at all. The food was excellent. Absolutely no complaints about the food. Loved the food. My complaint about this restaurant is its size and decor. We went for lunch on a weekend and there were a lot of customers. The restaurant felt too small and needed a bigger room. The tables and chairs were uncomfortable, especially the design of the chairs. The tables were crowded close together so it felt claustrophobic.
