An awful dining experience, not "fine dining"
First I will say that the restaurant's atmosphere was nice and our waitress was wonderful. She did everything she possibly could to make our dining experience a good one. Unfortunately, there was nothing she could do to compensate for the horrendous quality of the meal. The appetizers were decent. The main courses were awful! They took a long time to arrive even though they seemed to have been prepared well in advance of actual orders. It was overcooked, overcooked some more and then cooked again just for good measure. We ordered a special "surf & turf" menu option (Valentine's Day special menu) and were told we couldn't ask for our steaks at the temperature we liked since they'd been prepared already. That seemed odd. Being a busy day, the wait was long but that wasn't a problem for us. What was a problem was that we received a completely different menu item than we ordered! Since the wait was so long, we accepted what they decided to give us, a seafood boil tossed on a plate. We received a full lobster, cut in half, with no way to extract most of the lobster meat. The lobster was so overcooked, it would have been easier to chew on my shoe. A couple of bacon wrapped scallops, a tiny piece of cod, 4 tiny potatoes and 2 jumbo shrimp that were so overcooked I was looking for that shoe again. We tried to refuse desert, not willing to risk it, but our waitress insisted, she felt so bad. It was edible, but that's all I'll say. Meal cost .... $95 / person. We regularly dine out, everywhere from small diners, large chain restaurants, bistros, and the prominent fine dining establishments. This restaurant claims to be fine dining and is the furthest thing from it.
