We went to the harvest table on a Friday night because the resturaunt we wanted to go to was an hour wait... we walked in the door and the waitress hollard over to grab any table we wanted... which wasn't an issue seeing as we were the only ones in the resturaunt.... she came over with 2 glasses of ice water and asked us what we wanted to eat... i ordered chicken fingers and fries and a french onion soup and my boyfriend ordered the fisherman's platter and a french onion soup. As we were waiting for the waitress to come over and take our drink order (which never happend) another couple came into the resturaunt for dinner... sat down and asked for the specials of the day... which were not mentioned when we ordered.... our soup came out after about 15 minutes.... the bread was soggy... definatily not french onion soup material.... we figured it could only get better from here.... our meals came out about 15minutes after... my meal was just chicken fingers and fries... the fries were bland.... no seasonings at all... and the chicken fingers were frozen out of the box.... my boyfriend's fisherman's platter was frozen, however they had claimed that it was fresh... the scalops were like biting into a pocket full of chewey water... yuck!... after not eating any of his meal and me only eating half of my meal.. i had to ask the waitress for the bill (after waiting for 15 after we were done eating).... The bill came to just about 40$ for meals we didnt even enjoy.... we went up to the front to pay.... the owner came out and asked how the meal was... we told him honestly how we felt without being rude about the situation.... he asked why we would say that it was not good... and we explained that the seafood was not fresh and everything was bland.... he continued to get upset...told us to not pay the bill and to get out of his resturaunt.... so we did just that... left... and will never go back.

Harvest Table was my lunch spot at work while I had a job in this part of Burlington and I still come back. They have amazing thick french fries and delicious burgers and chicken fingers. for a sit down dinner you get a fair portion and you will pay normal sit down prices but for burgers and take out the price is perfect. Huge portions and consistently good food keep me coming back over and over.
I hope it never closes!
Bacon and Eggs, Coffee and Toast...basic done right...no gimics, no fuss...simple home cooked at a better than fair price...couldn't ask for a better place to have a basic meal with no frills...enjoyable!

I have been eating Breakfast at the HT for years. Still the best in Burlington in my view. Price includes Coffee which is excellent quality and a bottomless cup. It typifies the "Family" style Restaurant. Food is basic but well prepared and the Kitchen is always willng to make changes to the Menu to accomodate Patrons

This restaurant hasn't changed, probably since it opened. It's a Mom and Pop kind of place, and you don't really expect much from it when you first walk in. The food is actually good though, and it has that home cooked taste to it. It does cater to a bit older crowd though and could use some updates in terms of decor. The place has survived the test of time so far though, and I would go back just because it's important to support some local landmarks. I wouldn't want to see it change too much, sometimes it's nice to walk into a place and know what you're going to get.
My hubby loves this place! He loves the Eggs Benedict. I think it's okay, the wait staff are all very pleasant. I'm sure he'll be asking to go again soon. :)
As a cook myself, this place needs to stick to short order cooking. The Breakfast has classic style dishes producing a 'comfort food style '...lunch and dinner are better spent elsewhere.
The service was absolutley horrible. The first mistake they did was drop a fork. Instead of getting a new fork, the server just picked it up and put it on the table. Second, the setting was not very nice at all, and took alot of time to come. The food was not good at all and I highly doubt anyone comeing to this place. The washrooms were even disgusting. The only plus side of the evening was the server was a pretty nice person. All else the even was horrible. I know this is my opinion, and I am allowed to have it, but some people might think differently. Just take this as an opinion and not fact.
