I've been to Diwa Classic a handful of times over the past two years and every single time it has never disappointed me. The food is extremely flavorful, don't go there looking for subtle flavors - everything explodes. The service is excellent and the decor is tasteful and very Asian. Their nans are wonderful. The only time I've ever been disappointed was with the traditional desserts, I hope they add some Canadian deserts like cheese cakes and chocolate desserts in their menu. It's by far my favorite restaurant in the city.
I absolutely adore this place since being revamped. I don't think a lot of people realize that ownership has changed, it's improved hugely. If you love authentic Indian food, this is the best you will find in Guelph.
My husband and I visited Diwa Classic to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Though the food, ambiance and service were all of a very high caliber. We split a generous appetizer and each had a family-style entree, so we could share. I had the chicken korma - chicken in a mild sauce with cashews and almonds. My husband had the sag lamb, which is a richer lamb with spinach that was just as good. We also had saffron rice, fresh nan and finished our night with homemade mango ice cream. The atmosphere was elegant, yet entirely unpretentious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in need of an excellent dining experience; formally attired or not.
I come here with friends and colleagues for lunch whenever I get the chance. I go for the lunch buffet as the variety and quality of the food is tremendous! Everything has so much flavour and is cooked to perfection. Some of the best goat curry I have ever had. The atmosphere is nice for lunch, not sure how I would feel for dinner (a lot of booth seating) and the service is excellent. The naan is wonderful and served hot and fresh to each customer.
This is such a nice restaurant. Very nicely decorated and friendly. The food is of consistently high quality. Go for the buffet at lunch time. Simple but well stocked and very tasty, and includes fresh naan bread. Attentive service - very high quality Indian food
