Classicos Bar Cafe

Classico's feature a variety of Mediterranean and Portuguese cuisine. Some great aspects of the restaurant is their use and selection of fresh ingredients, individualized service, and intimate atmosphere. When we arrived we were promptly greeted and sat. After getting situated the owner approached us and started a casual conversation and asked us if we were interested in eating seafood or meat. We chose seafood and the owner then informed us that he would prepare us a personalized platter for two that we could share. This was kind of a relief because the menu was small didn’t have many items that were tempting to me. He also helped us pick out a bottle of Portuguese wine that complemented our dinner perfectly. . We were very impressed with the quality and freshness of food that we were served. Our Appetizer was grilled Ahi Tuna that had been brought into the restaurant that day. Our platter had some of the best tasting seafood that we have ever had, each prepared in a different way with a complementary fruit or vegetable. I really enjoyed the small and intimate atmosphere, there were about 20 small tables inside and four tables on their small patio at the entrance. Overall it had a very warm and cozy feel. I would recommend Classicos to anyone who enjoys fresh ethnic food for a moderate and fair price. If you enjoy family run places rather than franchise type establishments this is the place to go. The service is helpful and goes beyond expectations, perfect for small family gatherings or couples of all ages. Also returned six months later and the wait staff and owner recognized me immediately!

Love this atmosphere. Great place to ``get away`` have conversation with friends. Food was devine and the service excellent. We had a wonderful evening out, Thanks to all the Classicos staff for an excellent experience. I will return here often.

I have been to Classicos several times. Each time the service and food have both exceeded my expectations. The staff at Classicos have even made a custom menu for my husbands 30th birthday complete with special request items and birthday wishes along the bottom of the menu. The atmosphere at Classicos is so inviting that we often order dessert just so we can stay longer and enjoy the friendly service and candlelit meal just a little longer. A previous review wrote that Classicos does not take debit or credit, this is not correct.

classicos is a nice restaurant. when we went, tehonly problem I had was with my rice. It was a bit undercooked. and the coke tasted really watered down. other than that the rest of the stuff was pretty good. the service was awesome. i'm willing oto give it another shot. im sure it was just bad timing.

I arrived a bit late, around 8:45 pm for a group 8 pm reservation. The waiter, the only server in the entire restaurant, hadn't even taken orders for the others at the table yet and i had to flag him down to get me a drink. We then waited over 2 hours, not exaggerating at all for a our food. It didn't come out together so people had to start while others waited. They ran out of bread which was our only salvation at 10 pm with the food still not ready. We had to wait again for the bills. Overall, the food was amazing and it's too bad the service was sooo bad. I've never had such a poor experience. The owner tried to make a joke when we left that the service would be good next time, not just the food. He thought it was funny that we were so annoyed and our bill for two was ~$85 so i didn't see the humour in it at all.

Myself and a friend discovered this quaint restaurant a few weeks ago and decided to stop in for a snack and a cocktail. The brie appetizer was fantastic, as was the sangria (the best I've had since I was in Spain). The manager, Tony, was extremely pleasant and welcoming (as always), and even set up a custom table for us outside to enjoy the beautiful sunshine. As for the bums -- it's downtown kitchener, so there are bound to be homeless people walking by. I would highly doubt that any sketchy people would dine there, and if they would, I would definitely consider them to be classy folk!

We will never return here. It took hours literally to get our mediocre meals, which were not what we had ordered. Meanwhile the manager and his friends are getting plates of food. When we asked if we could have the same we were told that we had to order that in advance. Waitress was inexperienced to put it politely. Chorizo soup was (I swear) habitant french pea soup.

I was told about this place by a friend. the atmosphere is wonderful, the staff seemed nice and i did not see many drunks, but if you consider having a drink, someone being drunk there was a few drunks there! and i paid by debit. Will be returning to try there menu.

If you haven't been you need to try it - the atmosphere is great and so is the service. My friend and I both thoroughly enjoyed our pasta which completely surprised me as I find it difficult to find a place that makes good pasta. It was such a pleasure to have fresh, hot pasta with such flavor. We both kept saying to each other how surprised we were that the place wasn't packed! It was a great experience and I would go back there in a second to try other menu items!!!
