We had not been to Joeys for a few months. The service was great as usual!! The fish was good but the fries and the vegies were cold. We will be back as this is the only place we go for seafood.
We were at Joey's two weeks before this visit and ordered all you can eat shrimp. We thought it was great.
There were 7 in our party at that time and would order the shrimp anytime. We had fish this time and it was dark . It was all batter They must have used a rolling pin to get it that thin.
Calamari was actually quite good. Fish was ok, but the popcorn shrimp were really tiny and overly greasy. The broccoli was cold, I think because they boil it from frozen and didn't ley it warm up enough. The potatoes looked good, but had an odd texture, likely from also being frozen, not fresh. Service was good - all the wait staff seem to work well with each other, so the part of our order that was late was known to more than one person.
The food is less than mediocre. I had the fish&chip special. Mild fish, overly greasy, served with paprika-spiced fries (ick!). They serve a strange cheap brand of ketchup, and the tartar sauce is kind of gross.
The price? Yes it's cheap. If you're really hurting for funds, Joey's will get some seafood into you on a budget. But again... I have had far better meals elsewhere for less.
The service there was nice and friendly, and it was in a convenient location for where we were. But I probably won't be returning.
