It is likely the best part of my day. A few moments in time, carved out to accommodate a simple pleasure in the midst of a hectic schedule. It’s a time to exhale; a time to just be.
I am sitting in the cookie shop of Elm Hill Cookies, enjoying a cold glass of milk with an old fashioned cardboard straw. On this visit, I’ve selected a square headed gingerbread boy adorned with a tiny pink heart. The phrase “too precious to eat” comes to mind, but I willfully bite off the head with a loud snap. Instantly, I am rewarded with the sweet and spicy mixture of pungent ginger goodness.
