There must be a secret to running a business that’s been thriving since the 1970s. For Keith’s Deli, it's the homemade sausages on crusty buns, served in both barbecue or spicy flavours. Or it could be the homemade soups. Or maybe it's the friendly owner and the warm staff. The food at this deli certainly has made a mark on its customers.
“The sausages have been the original recipe since day one,” says owner Jim Hannan. “They are made from scratch on the premises.” The bestseller is the Keith’s Special, a barbecued pork sausage on a bun, served hot with cheese, lettuce, mayonnaise and mustard. Brave customers opt for the spicy Italian sausage version. Keith’s Deli offers other kinds of sandwiches as well, like the Pizza Pup.
Whether you like them spicy or mild, there are sausages for every taste. “Customers even take the sausages home, chop them up, and add them to their spaghetti or lasagna dishes,” Jim says. He also prepares some uncooked sausages once a week if customers call ahead to order them.
