This is my favourite restaurant in Peterborough. My friends and I are always looking for new and exciting places to try for supper, and have been to most places you can name, but we always come back here. The sweet potato frites are a must as a side dish, especially if its your first time.
Too many good things to say - music's great, even the bathroom walls are covered in nostalgic creole periodicals and advertisements for louisianna jazz houses, and messages written by the clientele over the years.

If you have ever been in the South East United States for BBQ or soul food than you would appreciate this place. The decor will definitely start you off in the right direction mixed in with an awesome juke box with some of the best and obscure blues, jazz, reggae, and soul. If you are wanting fine dining than go out and pay for it. This is soul food at a reasonable price done right in a comfortable atmosphere. My date and I will definitely come back!

Hot Belly Mama's is a great "New Orleans french quarter cuisine" restaurant. The food is amazing - and they provide a few non-spicy items just in case you can't handle the spice. Be sure to try the Sweet Potatoe Frites ... scrumptious!
The food makes up for the slow and sometimes rude service!
OMG! The Sweet Potato Frites are AMAZING!!! I highly recommend them! I got the Veggie Po'Boy. It was amazing once I took the avacado out. The avacado tasted like make-up, YUCK! And I usually like avacado! Food was still really good, and the atmosphere is super!
