Booyah Inc. is a cool and quirky ice cream parlour located on Vaughan Road just south of St. Clair Avenue. With a cult following of Instagram foodies and one-of-a-kind recipes that are sure to impress, this little frozen treats shop is making big waves across the city.
Born in the spring of 2015, this family operation is managed by Western University grad Blair Mincer. He oversees Booyah’s day-to-day operations with his parents and sister. In fact, you’re guaranteed to bump into one of them while you’re in for a treat. “One of us will always be here,” confirms Blair. “We’re very hands-on and we love interacting with our customers. Everybody chips in.”
Booyah is a little oasis on Vaughan, where condos, busy St. Clair shops, restaurants and residential streets all seem to meet. The bright neon red sign signals a changing neighbourhood and brings downtown food stylists midtown. “We’re trying to be a destination,” explains Blair. During its second summer, Booyah saw a serious uptick in business, with customers finding them on social media and through word of mouth. The shop is modern and neat, with minimal seating inside and wooden benches out front. There’s often a line, but don’t worry, it moves fast.
