Exploring the three showrooms of Tanya’s Furniture and Bath Gallery in Toronto’s Corso Italia neighbourhood is a feast for the visual senses. Richly coloured displays of throw pillows, vases, candlesticks and all manner of elegant knick-knacks fill the store’s three showrooms, while sparkling crystal chandeliers dangle tantalizingly from above. It’s a large shop, but you could be forgiven for thinking it’s even larger, thanks to the reflections created by the eclectic collection of mirrors adorning the walls. Though the variety of bath and homeware on offer at Tanya’s is striking, it all fits nicely together somehow. The same could be said for the people working at Tanya’s, but there’s a very simple explanation for that cohesiveness: they’re family.
